^ which should really stop the model teammate/ultimate UK guy talk...people pissed Badet bailed on an over the middle pass...Towles possibly bailed on the team pre seasons end.

Have always questioned his play, never his effort. But the leakings that he decided to look around way before seasons end really pisses me off.

Some have been saying as time goes on we'll get more and more info on what was going on with this team this year. If Towles was already planning on leaving before he was benched, and the season ended I'd guess that's just the tip of iceberg.

But so many posters here were wrong when they wanted Barker to gets so reps in the games.

Very true. When you are the starting QB and you are planning to transfer without a BCS Champ type team looking at you, then it does say something must be going on. Its not like Bama is looking at him and he is hoping to win a NC next year. He will be playing for a team in the same position we are in and he wont be playing for the team he grew up cheering for. Seems very odd. Some bad mojo coming out of the locker room

Not going to say there aren't locker room issues but Towles looked like he was literally ready to cry when Barker was playing. I hope he finds a niche but would be surprised if he winds up at a place where there is a question of serious competition with another QB.

You must have seen a different Towles than me because I never observed Pat giving anything but support to Drew and the team on the sidelines.

Why were we wrong. Barker is unproven. He could still workout. Nothing that happened in the UL game shows Barker can't get it done. Now if Barker 3 years later is throwing 15 INTs and 10 TDs then you have a case. As it were it would be like replacing the captin of the Titanic after it hit the ice berg. Our fate was already sealed by the time Barker got his first pass attempt.

You realize I was calling for Barker to get reps from the start of the season don't you?

Yeah, does piss me off that a QB checked out before the season was over and was still taking reps from other team members. Does piss me off to sit through all those games in the stands and know that I want to be there more than one or many of the players.

This helps explain my effu conversation I encountered at Nutter,if that much dysfunction had been going on for a while! His "scoop" remark must been his confusion with thinking I was a KSR employee, since I had previously had called the uk staff member,Nick Roush! Good luck to the employees at Nutter, their going to need lots of it!

You know he could have made that decision and still not checked out, correct? You can dislike PT's play but he never seemed to be anything other than a great teammate that gave it his all for a school he has loved since childhood. I'm guessing this decision was incredibly tough for him. You can keep your panties in a wad, but I think you're stretching a bit here when it comes to Towles.

You can think what you want, fine with me. If you are searching and researching other teams while being the starter at QB for a different team, you aren't all in and definitely checked out in a large way.

Some people on the HOB heard rumblings that he knew around the AUB/MSU games that he wouldn't be back - wasted reps, wasted experience opportunities for others.

Probably Bobo. He helped groom Aaron Murray and Matt Stafford.

Yep. Plus last year under McElwain CSU had a prolific offense, especially the passing game. Their QB Grayson, who's now 2nd on the depth chart at New Orleans put up Heisman type #'s, over 3,000 yards, and over 30 TD's. This year's team was rebuilding with a new HC, but still managed to win 7 games. I suspect it will be more next year. They're very competitive in the MW, and actually broke into the Top 25 last year when they were 10-1. I believe Bobo will prove an excellent coach for them.

Say what you will about the MW and CSU, but the Rams do have a knack for hiring good coaches. If only they could afford to keep them.

Link to a KSR post summarizing his interview in case anyone missed it.
Mrs TT's write up misses one salient point. About the 5:00 mark of the interview MJ asks about the rumors of "division in the locker room" and if it affected the season. PT "downplays" any division as the reason for the second half slide and then repeatedly mentions "we just didn't make plays". Thoughts anyone?

Peace

What part don't you understand about talking to a football staff member that you had several previous conversations with and told to eff off! It would be like me telling you to eff off after we had pleasant conversation about football over a cup of coffee! If you can't figure the scenario out, get back to studying your nuclear physics!

What part of "we just didn't make plays" don't you understand? You know...stuff like fumbles, dropped INTs, dropped passes, blown coverages, missed tackles, missed blocks, cutting pass routes, piss-poor STs, penalities, etc etc etc. I know you're chomping at the bit to turn this into something anti-UK/anti-Towles. he was very clear....UK didn't make enough plays to win games.

Agree. Handled it better than anyone couldve imagined, honestly. I didnt expect him to throw a fit or anything, but his handling of it was exemplary.

You realize I was calling for Barker to get reps from the start of the season don't you?

And he should have, even if Towles was killing it he needed experience in case of injury and for the future. We had a sizable lead against ULL, he shouldve seen snaps. We were way behind in other games, shouldve seen snaps.

You can think what you want, fine with me. If you are searching and researching other teams while being the starter at QB for a different team, you aren't all in and definitely checked out in a large way.

Cant argue with that. So much for #allin

Dude give it a rest.....first off your post about "trouble over at Nutter" was on the House of Blues page, not this one. And secondly either your relationship with this staff member was not as good as you think it was or you caught this person on a very bad day (or both) and you are trying to fit these things into your narrative to prove your point.

Either way, UK football did not have a very good year and the people over at Nutter are pissed, sick and tired of it and just want it to end.

No, I "defended" Towles selection as the 2015 starter based on a not-too-bad 2014 season as a 1st year starter although I been very adamant that Barker should have been playing some early series in every game. And like many others I am really surprised UK did not win at least 6, especially after getting that 2-1 start in SEC games.

Performance is the product of coaching and talent; coaching to put players in position to succeed and talent to "do it". I guess what I am asking is "not making plays" more a reflection on the players or the coaching? Or just bad luck? I'm just curious about what you and others think about "why" UK could not make plays.

FWIW, I generally think "not making plays" is more a reflection on talent rather than coaching unless players are being asked to do things they simply cannot do. But regardless of "how" you are coached, players are generally "expected" to not fumble, catch ball, throw passes, make tackles, etc. JMO, of course.

Peace

Patrick's brother lives about an hour from Ft Collins and that is his connection to Colorado State. Boston College is the other possibility because they play a style that will bring out Patrick's strengths. Either one will prepare Towles for the NFL Draft. There are also a few other schools tyhat meet the criteria which is a pro style offense and their QB position being wide open.

This is absolutely the best and only choice that Patrick had because UK's Offense was not siited to bring out his style.
