While he does have a point:

Defeating Notre Dame speaks more about a team than defeating Ole Miss.

His smack-talk is so lame. We heard better smack before the Alcorn game.

bowls than theirs have. I totally agree beating Notre Dame means more than beating the Bears but did they win in the SWAMP? I don't care if Florida is down, they have been more relevant over the last 20 years than Notre Dame has. For the record I actally LIKE Notre Dame.

I made a similar post based of some of their message boards a few days ago. Those guys are so convinced that their status as the winningest program, or a good SEC bowl record actually means they have some sort of advantage this year.

There are some folks that actually believe they might lose, but on the whole, the vast majority are discussing where to put the trophy. There seem to be some general themes too:

- That the off time will benefit them tremendously (um...MSU gets the same amount of time to heal/prep)
- That RichRod does really well with time to prep (um...again, same time and also, this is based on what? his only/prior two years were bowl-less)
- That they own the SEC, thus this will be no different (true...great record, but those were very different Michigan teams)
- Somehow school tradition will factor in
- The only reason ESPN, or any other sports network, picks State over Michigan is because they love Ohio State. Such ideas are otherwise ridiculous. (huh?)

Per Sagarin:

2009:
Michigan 5-7, ranked #81 with #72 SOS
MSU 5-7, ranked #45 with #1 SOS

2010:
Michigan 7-5, #48 with #39 SOS
MSU 8-4, #25 with #29 SOS

They implied in the article that they've been stronger and had a better schedule than State the past two years. Not even close.
