I was looking at some stats on sports-reference. They show Bryant with a knee injury and questionable for Oregon. Wondering if this is correct and if anyone has heard anything.
One play Wilbon was in he didn't pick up the blitz. Could be why. Go with the hot hand.Call me crazy, but I almost feel like you don't need to keep grinding a guy with a knee prone to swelling all the way to 30+ touches in game one if you have "1b and 1c" RBs behind him. He was obviously gassed late in a few of those series and yet they didn't sub him.
Wilbon looked good on his few snaps. Is there something I don't know about why you don't give Bryant 20-25 touches and Wilbon 10-15?
Story of his career I guess. Looks explosive when he gets the ball, but it's what I don't see that explains his absence. One play Wilbon was in he didn't pick up the blitz. Could be why. Go with the hot hand.

I'm the idiot who likes Ozigbo...a lot.

Rumors of disaplinary actionAt RB, if your pass pro is garbage, you probably won't get a lot of snaps unless it's a called run or you are in the route plan for a pass play.
The absence of Zig is worth a OWH or LJS reporter's time.
Exactly what I am laughing about while reading this thread. It is amazing how the narrative changes. Just weeks ago we didn't have a great amount of guys worth carrying the ball, and we were regaled with reasons why Davis should give one workhorse the rock cuz "rhythm".
One workhorse gets the rock, and now there are complaints he's an idiot for not letting the kid who can't pass block or hold onto the ball carry more.
The guy had to sit out practice yesterday. Were you born stupid or did you just wake up that way this morningI like the way they used Bryant. Rhythm is a big deal and he had it. Plus, the game allowed for that many touches: 1. The defense was on the field a long time allowing rest time for Bryant, and 2. A-State certainly weren't big hitters. I doubt he walked away all that bruised and battered.
Bradley is hurt? The guy had to sit out practice yesterday. Were you born stupid or did you just wake up that way this morning? Of course 30 carries is a ton and I don't recall him running out of bounds with the ball once. He got hit hard and hit a bunch. You obviously never played the position if you don't think he was a hurting unit after the game. He was limping noticeably for most of the second half. It may have been somewhat out of necessity with Bradley hurt and Devine mysteriously absent and normally I don't mind that many carries but he obviously had a boo boo.
Yeah I thought they said in the radio pre-game that he wasn't available. I don't remember what it was and I could be wrong.Bradley is hurt?
Some people hit far harder than others. There is a reason teams USED to hurt badly the week after playing Nebraska. If we are beaten up after A-State, just wait until the Big 10 season starts. The guy had to sit out practice yesterday. Were you born stupid or did you just wake up that way this morning? Don't be an idiot. Go watch the video. He got hit plenty hard by some big fast dudes that would break you in two with one hit. Ark St had more than a few SEC and other Power 5 transfers on their team. Some people hit far harder than others. There is a reason teams USED to hurt badly the week after playing Nebraska. Think post practice interview from last week said an ankleYeah I thought they said in the radio pre-game that he wasn't available. I don't remember what it was and I could be wrong.

You want facts? Last year A-State's rushing defense was ranked 100. They weren't smacking people around like Wisconsin or Ohio State. I know it's not fashionable to say on this board, but those guys aren't all world.Don't be an idiot. Go watch the video. If that kid still can't pass-block or hold onto the ball after 4 years here, is it not fair to question the coaching? What has he been working on in practice all these years?
Have you ever taken a hit from a D-1 athlete of any kind. I have and I can tell you that 6' 220 hurts like hell no matter what the defense is ranked. You want facts? I really thought Newby was going to stick on the practice squad with the Vikes but they signed a bigger waived RB off of somebody else's practice squad. He got a long look from the Vikes and if somebody else gets hurt I wouldn't be surprised to see them re-sign him.As far as coaching goes, Davis revived Newby's career from the dead, has done solid work with Zig, and seems to have put Bryant well on the way to living up to his potential. Even Bradley by all accounts in his short time here.
If MW is the only development "fail" in three seasons at that positions that's better than par for the course in major college football.
I don't think Wilbon is worthless either, but I don't know that he's a back that's going to get 15+ touches right now.
Tom took plenty of them. Although he might want to act tough, deep down he knows his hits were nothing like those from Nebraska of old.Have you ever taken a hit from a D-1 athlete of any kind. I have and I can tell you that 6' 220 hurts like hell no matter what the defense is ranked.

Statistical evidence proves that the lower your rank, the softer you hit. It doesn't matter what size the person hitting you is. I'm surprised you didn't know that.Have you ever taken a hit from a D-1 athlete of any kind. I have and I can tell you that 6' 220 hurts like hell no matter what the defense is ranked.
great idea. With that 14pt advantage another 7 puts them away.Hindsight is always 20/20, but I would have liked to have seen him with fresh legs make an appearance in the 4th quarter before the score got tight, especially if TB's knee was bothering him by that point.
