I have two dead Chinaberry trees in my backyard that need to be removed and stumps ground. I have called about 6 different tree removal/landscaping companies. So far only one (Barone's) has responded and sent someone out and they gave me an estimate but cannot get to me until Nov. Two other responded, took my name and address and said they would send someone out in a day or two but no one ever showed up. Need some recommendations. One tree is about 18" in diameter and the other about 12", neither is more than 40' tall.

I've used Barone's on three occasions and been pleased. My neighbor just used 34 Tree Service (601 868 6772) and he liked them.

Make sure you make it clear that you want the stumps ground and the area cleaned up. The cleanup is 75% of the work. The rest is fun.

He took down 3 very large oak trees around my house last year. I’d recommend him for sure…

but I will say, we waited for a few months on him too. Due to the drought last year, there are a lot of dead trees around. These guys are all backed up right now.

The good ones are months out.

They are still overloaded with the dead pines from last summer.

Careful, starting to pick up more and more disgruntled customers from overpriced shoddy work.

These are from names of tree services I’ve never heard of before

The price of cutting trees is negotiable, they'll often throw in stump grinding for free or $100/stump. Always pay for grinding.

Unless the trees are in a position that they will fall and damage property, I'd be open to a jake leg doing it rather than a professional company.
