We wasn't going spend any money on Big Oaks because we was getting a new stadium at the HS in 5 or 6 years. Our visitor fence was to close to the sideline and fear of a lawsuit forced them to put some money into the stadium. The $100,000 cherokee put in is only a small part of the total cost.

The tribe money has not been spent on these projects from what I was told..The bleachers we're already in and installed before this was voted on..The fence and sidelines was paid by a local contractor.
I heard it was for sound system and lights but that is looking more doubtful now

This donation isn’t anything close to what is spent elsewhere. Snowbird gets a small piece of the pie. Cherokee Central Schools recieves 2.7% of tribal money. No complaints here, they service the majority of tribal kids. I think that percentage is deserving but when money is spent outside the Qualla circle it recieves backlash. This letter of course is from someone down here in R’ville and an opinion that few down here share. But when you come to Big Oaks the Snowbird Community is there in force. The football gate is the biggest draw for us and to have a field that was not up to code would have an affect not just on the football field.

I got an idea. Let's compare the number of trible players that have won state championships in Robbinsville vs the number of trible players that have won state championships in Cherokee. Whom ever has the most gets the $100,000

I believe he is referring to state champions on the team. Idk if Ornelas played on the 2015 runner up squad or not but we have a championship caliber coach.

How about shove that 100,000 where tha sun don't shine!! Money from tha sin den has helped tha Bible beltbuckle out, I HATE it as much as unz do!!! How bout let's give that money to Phillips and Jordan for your championships!! You 2 idiots should have come before tha tribal council and told them unz dont want this dirty money!! We couldn't push alcohol down there but tha money made from alcohol sales has really helped!!! For everyone on tha outside listenin to gentle slow dumb giant knight and b!@#$k run there stupid false teeth here's tha truth!!!! Money from tha casino in Cherokee has helped there stupid more championships than everybody entire world stadium have a major upgrade, more then just light bulbs and speakers!!!!!!!! Talk about wastin money, where's all tha money from all them sold out home playoff games!!! I'd rather take that money back and give it to Russia!!!

I most rasict thing I ever heard on here was from a murphy fan 5 or 6 yrs ago. He said something about indians and alcohol and diabetes. I was the first one to call him out for that. I was basically the only one to say anything. Its in writing. Its true.

I hope God forgives you for trashing his bribe.

Only if Cherokee gets to at least count the ones from Swain. At least that closes the gap some and the Braves would have won some titles without all the flight over to Bryson City through the years.

Goodness why does everything have to turn into another argument for Trump and politics. I will say that the minority of any race speaks for the majority. In R’ville there is a small number of whites who do not like Indians. But as the vast majority I will say it is not the case. This whole thread was supposed to cause argument. Why else would you be surprised the tribe donated money to a school where the Indians make up the largest minority of students. It is not pretty and it is not perfect but regardless of skin tone, everyone down here will cheer for that Black Knight uniform. Racism is prevalent but ignorance is the growing problem. I understand the Cherokee posters frustration. They see their tribal kinsmen being undervalued and not appreciated. In my opinion some the post regarding the donation came off like R’ville doesn’t need any help from the tribe. That was my only issue but then I think 1 poster does not speak for the R’ville community, regardless of color. And far as Trump support the Tribe as whole are not supporters. And little history they split the Rez into Swain and Jackson to take away the voting power of the Tribe. We could go back and forth about politics but at the end of the day this about football and it’s about your schools support not political party.

Seems like if unz woulda stayed over seas then it wouldn't have happen either!!! No I dont like your idiot president and this thread isn't about football its about us givin money to unz!!! I've had to hear for 11 years stupid comments about my ethnicity from unz kids and even grown adults cause we didn't tuck our tail and let unz beat on us, unz have caused this!!! Tha only difference between me and unz is I dont hide mine!!! I've got a few good friends down there in robinsville and you would be floored at who it is!!! I love them boys and they love me!!!

I would like to acknowledge “us” does mean the entire tribe, i.e. R’ville Cherokees too. So as everyone’s opinion is warranted about the issue I think it is being taken solely on what or who is more deserving. I even heard a petition was being started and this issue is gettin out of hand. Yes the tribe donated money but there was already money there from various sources. The tribes donation will allow money to go back into the schools general fund where it would not have any. Also heard graduations could be moved to the Big Oaks. So all in all the school who is struggling financially is receiving money and an upgrade to a very dated and dangerous stadium. R’ville needs any help it can get and so does the Snowbird community but when we do, it becomes a pissing contest on who contributes or does more. I do not care everyone is entitled to their opinion but can we not acknowledge the benefits more broadly instead of being narrow minded.
