Everyone thought it was Matt Norlander. But looks like it's a former UF basketball manager.

I was off this site for twelve hours and everything went to hell. WTF?How did Trilly take “one step out of bounds against BBN”?
Hope you learned your lesson.I was off this site for twelve hours and everything went to hell. WTF?
Ha.. Trilly called out Graf and Pilgrim earlier yesterday then posted everyone at BYU hated Pope and was glad he left.. That musta pissed off some UK fan who doxxed him,, lol..
Sounds like sour grapes to me (if it was said at all).Is that true? Pope seems very likeable
100%. I’m sure they all like Pope quite a bit. But BYU basketball is in a far better place today than they were ever gonna be if he stayed there.I am guessing that Pope was liked but, no one is missing him. Their new coach is really getting it done. This past season is the first time I actually watched a BYU game in decades. Their immediate future is bright.
It’s easy to view it that way given the timeline of events and them being in a better place now.100%. I’m sure they all like Pope quite a bit. But BYU basketball is in a far better place today than they were ever gonna be if he stayed there.
Unpopular, but probably an accurate statement.100%. I’m sure they all like Pope quite a bit. But BYU basketball is in a far better place today than they were ever gonna be if he stayed there.

Here's my take. For whatever it's worth. Background. I never LOVED Pope as a player. Never loved him as a coach. As a HS coach, I've LOVED his offenses and tried to use those concepts for 5+ years now. I'm not some fanboy, but I think the dude can really coach, especially offenses.I have also heard rumblings of Pope not being well liked at BYU. Words used were fake, petty and two-faced. That doesn’t seem like the guy we’ve known for a year.
I know some Cougars fans didn’t like the way Pope left, but a lot of it seems like sour grapes to me. As always, I take everything I read online with a grain of salt.
The money rolled in because the mega booster providing it all hired the guy he wanted as coachIt’s easy to view it that way given the timeline of events and them being in a better place now.
But I’m not so sure Pope wouldn’t had made the same jump and the money wouldn’t had flooded in that next year anyways.
They had been a top 25 type team a couple years already. Pope led them into year 1 of the B12. Them being successful in year 1 gave proof of concept that they could compete at this level to the donors, and more importantly to recruits. Easier to recruit high level talent when you’re “a big boy” and not viewed as a midmajor.
That off-season was also the first full year of the portal bidding war flood gates fully opening. Odds are, all the money ppl that love sports were going to get involved (at least initially) regardless.
I also think BYU getting all the espn spotlight by association of being tied to the Coach Cal/UK soap opera brought out the donors willingness to swing big on the hire. Ppl that successful are uber competitive and I doubt they wanted to be odd man out of the couching triangle. Once the check books were out, they are fully out and behind the new coach for a few years at minimum. If they can’t get past the S16 for a couple years, it’ll die back down.
So the question is, did moneybag donors get more involved bc they didn’t vibe w Pope, or bc the circumstances around the program changed and they were now playing a full schedule of brand name schools on national TV weekly and receiving conference profit sharing on top of donor money

The "hate" probably exists from some of the paragraph above and a lot of thinking Pope wasn't winning enough. He won zero conference titles (regular season or tournament) and zero NCAAT games in five years there. BYU is accustomed to more than that. His replacement did more in one year than Pope did there in five.

Fair enough. That part is probably a bit unfair. I think Pope's five years looked a bit like Dave Rose's final five or so. Which is probably why Rose "retired" when he did. Rose lifted expectations, but then failed to meet the expectations he was responsible for lifting.BYU isn't accustomed to more than that.
Before this season, they were last in the Sweet 16 in 2011. Before that? 1981.
4 total NCAA wins since 1993, one of which was in the First Four.
I'm sure there were plenty of internal politics involved and the expectation level rose after his success during his final two years there, but BYU fans "being accustomed to more than" what Pope did wasn't part of it.
I actually totally agree with all of this. I almost included in my post that I think all three programs are better off, in the weirdest way possible. His replacement did that largely with guys Pope brought in during a multi-year rebuild. Also, when Kentucky took Pope it led to a flood of money across 3 programs: Kentucky, Arkansas, BYU.
You're misinterpreting what I said. That was said completely in reference to the "fake" comments. That's all. I agree, it has nothing or next to nothing to do with winning actual games. I do, however, see where it can wear super (pun completely intended) thin for some folks. There's a big, big difference in "being positive" and being disingenuous. I'm not saying that is Pope, but I can completely see where some could draw that conclusion, especially after numerous years of the same type of thing.I couldn't disagree more with some of your other takes. Too positive? Please. You don't lose games because you're "too positive". You're just picking a personality trait and attributing that to any thing that goes wrong instead of x's, o's and actual production.

Who is trilly? Not sure why any "doxxing" is happening, but Trilly's identity has been out there for a while now.
If I were him, I'd just move on and not talk about it. Otherwise, it's just going to draw more attention.
