That's all they got. What we have are two facts. Under Reagan, the U.S. economy exploded, an undeniable fact. Under Obama, he was the 4th worst President for economic growth in our country's history. They followed two very different paths. One worked, the other failed miserably.

Which one do you go with? Libs still go with Obama's, incredible.
And nothing else was happening during Jellybean's administration that would contribute to economic growth?

He had a recession worse than Obama's. His plans of deregulation, strong, stable dollar, tax cuts and military build-up not only gave us an incredible economy but helped to destroy the Soviet Union. Keep trying.

Didn't voodoo economics cause the deficit to continue to grow?

Democrats controlled Congress during the Reagan years. He did have to negotiate with tip O'Neill on spending. Reagan wanted a military buildup which was crucial. Tip O'Neill wanted more social spending. So they negotiated and yes spending went up. But to blame that on his tax cuts is ridiculous. Again revenues to the treasury more than doubled during his tenure.

But the cuts didn't pay for themselves....same as it's being advertised under Trump

And there's the hole in your theory ... tax cuts themselves do nothing if not part of a bigger plan. The economy is a complex system ... there are no easy theories that are going to fix everything.

1. Cut foodstamps back to before Obama.
2. Start raisning the age when government starts paying SS. It already has.
3. Drop the earned income tax credit, too much theft
4. Block grant money to states
5. Eliminate ACA
6.Cut corp taxes even more
7. Continue to get rid of govt programs that waste moneyh. Good rule of thumb would be to cut all budgets by 10%.
8. Institute competitve bidding.
9. The list goes on and on but doing what has been done over the last 50 years is killing the patient.

A balanced budget is a balanced budget.
We haven't ahd a balanced budget since Newt ran the House. That's the rub. Nobody wants to cut those programs that keep people sitting at home watching tV and waiting to get their govt check

I'm not playing your game. And comparing what they did in Kansas to the cuts in NC and Texas don't add up. Ya'll had two presidents since Reagan, lol. Who cares, it ain't gonna pass.

Boom, the cuts did pay for themselves. What part about Revenues to the treasury doubling in eight years do you not understand? The fact remains, that the Democrats required enormous spending to approve Reagan's military increase. That military increase led to the fall of the Soviet Union. And from that we got a huge piece David Anderson. dividend.

Even with this, the deficits of this era much less than Obama's. The reason, much, much higher GDP growth.

Would you like to place a wager on tax cuts passing? I've got a trip to Vegas coming up and need some extra dough.

The Dems ran things under Obama. Their budgets (actually their CRA's). Obama got his tax increases. He got his stimulus spending. He got Obamacare. He got his regulatory increases. He executed with a pen and a phone when the GOP took over the Senate. After the GOP took over the House, Harry Reid stopped most bills they passed not even letting the Senate take them up. So yes, the economy under Obama was all on him.

What else Boom? And why were Obama's economic numbers so poor? Despite the fact that the Fed undertook unprecedented action to spur the economy with all the QE programs and zero interest rate policy. Remember, under Reagan, Volkker had to raise interest rates dramatically to kill inflation from the Carter years. And Reagan still demolished Obama's feeble record on the economy, not to mention all of Obama's horrible foreign policy decisions.

The good news for Republicans is that they don't need a single Dem vote. It will be done through reconciliation. But you are right, most of the GOP have to get on board.

There is zero difference between the Dems and Repubs in Congress.
