team grew up this second half. If Tanner makes his throws we Win it.

Blackshirts stepped up. We all knew it would be a transition with Diaco. A lot of positives to build off of, a lot of negatives to teach. Coaches get to show why they deserve the money they make in the coming weeks. If this team plays like this in October I will start being worried.

This team was not gunna go 12-0, this game is a great lesson for an extremely young roster. Our goal should be the Big 10 West, which is very much in sight if we learn and grow..

We dug ourselves in a hole and fought back. As, Bill Belichick says... on to Northern Illinois.

Feel free to freak out if needed.

Agree starting to see some good signs. Lee is a concern and if Bryant is done that could be really bad.

We should use this non-con as the preseason. The Big 10 is there for the taking.

That's how I feel about it.

I stated in the first half "absolutely unacceptable" and it was. The no quit attitude by any unit, and the resulting comeback was quite a nice surprise in the 2nd half. While the offense looked bad at times, they are also responsible for 35 comeback points so it wasn't a complete dumpster fire. Consistency there is key. Certainly can use more work in all phases of the game, would like to see us make a run for the West.

coach Cav showed us he is a good coach. We leaned on them all day. If WR catches balls we look good.

I'm extra spacing this so people will see, Antonio Reed is the real deal.

Riley thought Bryant's knee wasn't too bad. Hope he's back for Big Ten play. Our offense isn't the same without him.

I wish I could feel good and I am happy we fought hard in the 2nd half on defense but facts are facts.

We gave up 400 yards and 42 points in one half. This against a team with a losing record last year. We have bad halves like that in the big10 it's game over.

2nd this hype on tanner doesn't look so goid right now. He was bad in the 2nd half down the stretch when we needed him the most. Looks like our qb whisperer offensive coordinator needs to work a little harder. So far I see nothing from Lee we did not have with Armstrong except he can't run

This is basically a fancy way of saying "they screwed up a half, and there's *nothing* they can ever do to make me feel better about it".

I rather like Frazier's attitude about the situation.

400 yards and 42 points is not just a screw up if they play like they did in the 2nd half they can be a good defense right now they stink.

Our offense also has a lot of work to do

I am happy they kept fighting though but moral victories don't get you very far

Sure but no one in their right mind expected this team to be undefeated. I'll be happy if they use these non-con games to work through some things so we can make a run at the West.

They showed they were capable of beating us handily in the 1st half, and we showed we were capable of beating them handily in the 2nd.

That's why they play the games.

Yep but I am not really sure how good Oregon - Taggart I do not believe is a great coach. So if our defense can play at a higher level consistently and if our QB can regain his composure and if we have a running game that we lean on then yes we may be able to look back at this second half from a defensive standpoint and say this was was the turning point. But at this point it is as likely we see the first half play in future games as it is the second half

I totally understand your opinion but let me ask you this... what would this defense have done wth Banker at D.C.??

I was looking for progress this year - so far this year

* Defense is worse much worse you point to one half of a game, a game where we gave up 566 total yards and 42 pts as progress - I do not

* Offense - supposedly this was the year Langsdorf and Riley had their pro caliber QB no more would we be saddled with a bunch of int's and a low completion percent - well guess what Armstrong is looking pretty good this year compared to what Tanner has done - Tanner is completing 50% of his passes and had 4 int's this game and of course he cant run - I would have preferred to have TA

I was looking for signs we are getting better and instead we got worse - I would say that should concern any fan of this team

I hated Banker from day one - but so far in the first two games this defense has been horrible outside of the last half

Lee looks like what he was at Tulane, good but not great. Need Bryant but I don't think he'll survive this season, maybe not even this game from the looks of it.

Your stats support your argument but i think the D stepped up tonight. Offense was a few drop passes away from winning the game.

I understand the hate but I think we can clean things up and be a good team. Eyes towards the future for me!!

Hey I have been a fan for many years and will root them on every game, there is always hope but very disappointed so far this season
I'm disappointed as well. My hope is that we are figuring some things out on defense. It seemed like we played a pretty clean game today penalty-wise, but are still making errors at critical times that are killer.

If we are doing the same things throughout the season, I will have a dimmer outlook for the future.
