All I have to say is this, the man has beaten every team in the conference on multiple occasions.

He knows every road in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Florida, and Louisiana.

He knows every high school coach on a first name basis at major schools in those states.

He's pissed off at Auburn, Saban, Ole Miss, and anybody else that wants a piece of him. He will win wherever he goes.

How long would it take Peterson to figure out where Batesville or Opp is? Same with Graham/Patterson. This guy is entrenched, from these parts, and PISSED OFF. He will make teams pay and we would be an excellent fit.

Throw out the attitude via his Ole Miss tenure. This is a new ballgame and the opportunity is knocking.
Hire him now!!!

And who's to say that Tuberville wouldn't run a wide open offense here at MSU? I doubt he brings in Borges. And no way in hell he brings in Tony Franklin.

God, watching Franklin go up against Croom and McCorvey was like watching special olympics.

This about it that way when all of you guys say "re-treads". There is something to be said for a coach that is a winner, especially in the SEC.

For me it's tough to rank those guys, but here's how I would go:

1) Tubs - for most of the reasons you list above, plus you figure this might be his last gig and he might take pleasure in one more round with the opportunity to leave his profession by pushing MSU past Bama, AU, OM. The risk is that he's set for life monetarily and the fire might have gone out.

2) Patterson - There's not much to dislike about him other than the fact he doesn't know the SEC very well or our recruiting ground, but I really like his philosphy. Basically seems like a younger version of Tubs to me.

3) Peterson - the sexy name hire but has zero experience in the SEC and even the south. How long would it take him to adjust and what if the family isn't happy with the move? He's young and innovative and we'd get some good pub with him as well as maybe a slight push in recruiting. Downside is the lack of success of other Boise coaches in BCS conferences, but I think it's hard to call it a trend.

4) Graham - like him the least out of the 4, but he's simply won everywhere he's been so hard to dispute it. I'd really want him to bring Malzahn with him though.

In the end, you can't feel bad as a MSU fan with either of these 4 guys as they would all bring something to the table to get excited about.

But at the same time I don't see him as being in the top 3 in the candidates that we should be looking at. But what Saban did.... I'm sorry, I just don't see Tubberville matching that.

I honestly believe that when you look at what's at stake, who would be the best guy for the position, based on our current situation. I've watched Tuberville coach for 15 years and the man can coach. This conference has been and is about to crazy in the way of having to "win". I really want Peterson, but he's gonna have a tough road due to our proximaty. Tuberville runs a clean program and always did. He has had some bad apples, but everybody does. He knows how to spot talent and coach them. Auburn was in just about every game they lost with the exception of Alabama and West Virginia.

With all of that said, I still expect for Petrino to surface in this mix.

I'd rather have Patterson/Petersen/Graham than Ears. We don't need to go the old guy route. It's time for fresh blood. Let's not gamble that Tubby still has the fire. Yeah, he's got upside. And his ego is huge, he'd probably love to stick it OM and Auburn every year. But my gut says the fire is gone for Tubby. He needs a year or two to rekindle the flame. I'd rather go with the young guys, who also have upside. No risk of burnout with them; they're hungry. Also, hiring Tubby would feel like marrying your brother's wife. In 100+ years of college football in this state, no former Mississippi HC has been MState HC and vice versa. Why start now?

I can't honestly say who I think will do the same thing that Saban has done. But you never know until you tried, and Tubberville has had plenty of years to have the same success that Saban has. He had that one year and got completely screwed over in, I'll give him that one. But right now, his name just doesn't ring with that much excitement to me. Like I said, I'm not just errupting with excitement from his name on the list, but at the same time I won't be miserable if we got him. He's a great coach, can't deny that. But I think that a few more coaches may need a look before him. True, they might not know our regions as well, but that's something that a really good recruiter could fix if they were able to bring one in on their staff.

They're about to talk about Tubberville on Sports Center and his potential next job apparently... Wonder where they're thinking.

Well damn.... It looks like AU really is trying to talk to Leach. They did say that they had an idea where Tubberville might be headed now but they didn't say anything about that though...

Just my ranking
1. Petersen
2. Patterson
3. Tubs

I would be estatic to hire 1 or 2, Tubs I would be glad to have him. He just doesn't have that excitement about him. If he got a great OC like people were saying such as Hudspeth, he could do great things.
