Does that take away pretty much any incentive for us playin them on the road in the future? Part of the charm of that game was packing in 20k MSU fans in the Dome for a dirt cheap game in the Superdome. I've been there twice, once for the Patrick Ramsey team that beat Jackie, and for the Croom daddy's big win against Matt Forte. Neither of those games did I pay more than 10 bucks per ticket outside the Dome prior to kickoff.

Loved the hell out of that trip, but not excited that we'd probably be gouged for $60+ tickets to fill their 30k seat stadium.

Parking in and around Tulane is nearly non-existent. It will be an absolute nightmare. There is also nowhere to tailgate. They used to allow parking on the Claiborne neutral ground, but after Katrina, without warning, they ticket about 500 cars the first baseball game of the season. Its a 10-15 minute walk from the streetcar line to that part of the campus.

Where would you park on that campus and where would you tailgate? The gameday experience is going to be a nightmare until they figure that out.

that happens in that city. I'm glad to see that they'll have an on campus stadium...have some diehard Tulane fans...they've also suffered.

on the contract. Stricklin and whoever Tulane's AD is might be able to work something out where we play in the Dome- or maybe something creative like playing at their new stadium one year, and then us having a "home game" at the dome the next year where our fans buy tickets through MSU as opposed to Tulane. And no- I'm not advocating us giving up playing less than seven games in Starkville. I'm saying play seven games in Starkville and then a "neutral site" game at the Superdome. I am saying go to NOLA two years in a row- if not more.

I think the neutral site game could be pretty cool- the athletic dept. could play it up and advertise the heck out of it. If I remember right- we brought about 20K or so to the Superdome. I would think Tulane would be OK with it- if I were them I'd much rather play MSU at the Dome and not have to travel to Starkville- the "Thanks for the check" game non-withstanding.

I don't really know NOLA well enough to know how it would affect us playing them as fans. A road trip to NOLA is going to be cool no matter what- unless it's in the ninth ward or something. I'm not sure how far Tulane is from the Quarter. I would imagine that they will have some sort of a parking plan in place if it's not walking distance.

It's something their fans can call their own and it won't look as empty everytime they play in it. It might be a really nice place to watch a game.

to watch Oklahoma's wishbone destroy the Auburn War Chickens in the Sugar Bowl. The Sullivan/Beasley combo was trashed that day. If I remember correctly there was about 84,000 fans in attendence...I bet Tulane would die just to have a third of that crowd show up at their games.
