any comments are appreciated. My attendance record actually sucks... I'm 4-3.

1980 - 3-6... Bama loses their 1st game ever.
1986 - 38-3... Bobby Humphrey rushes for over 200 yards.
1988 - 53-34... Was there but so drunk I don't remember the game.
1989 - 23-10... still drunk... went into the Corps the following year.
1996 - 16-17... we wuz robbed!!!
2000 - 7-29... we wuz KILT... 1st time I saw a Bama team actually quit.
2011 - 24-7... typical boring, methodical win under Saban.

Go.

1980 - didn't everybody?
1996- rushed the field. snatched a sod of the "prescription athletic turf" of Scott Field and planted it in my front yard. Maroon cups smelled like ***. Hotdogs were good.

1996-98: Three in a row against Alabama. May never happen again.
Missed '99.
2000: Jackie Towel Game
2002, 04: Forgettable
2007: A.J. Johnson
2009: An electric atmosphere for a loss. Trent Richardson looked at himself on the MooTube as he broke a big run.

....but, I was at the Jackson game. Don't remember much about it.

After that, it was '94 (screw job and the first time I got to see the SEC cheat in Bama's behalf in person).

Then, I was there in '96 as a student... Great memory. I kept looking at the clock in the 4th quarter and figured I had to be looking at it wrong.

Somehow forgot mention 1998. Awesome stuff.

Last one was 2000.... That game was great, but it marked the last time that MSU football was a contender under Jackal Wayne. It went downhill at the speed of light after that.

It took a special brand of incompetence to piss that 2000 season away... We were head and shoulders above everybody that year and didn't even make it to ATL.

I'll admit it, I missed it in 1980.

I was 15, learning to cop a few brews and was getting my first stinky fingers around that time. Dad asked if I wanted to go and I thought ....... Nah..... Not interested in the 4 hour drive from Memphis two ways just to see us get our *** beat again. "I'll sit this one out, Pop ... Y'all have fun". Boy did they.

My whole family was out of town and i spent the night w a friend that went to work sat morning. I was stuck in whitehaven w no car to get home until later.

Keep in mind, no cable, no cell phones in those days.

Well, I sat in his empty house, listening to jack on a transistor radio.

Holy ****, we won! That was the weirdest feeling in the world. I'm going bonkers in a dark empty house w absolutely no one to share the news. No cell phones or texting buddies... ****, I remember it like yesterday. I think I partied that night w my school chums but they weren't State fans so they got tired of my yapping.

Crazy! My folks and sibs came home later and there was much rejoicing. Damn did I pick a game to miss.

I saw us play Bama in 2000, 2003, 2005, and 2011.

Does anyone know what happened in 2001/2002 that caused us to get to Bama two years in a row? I don't remember this from my college days.

Was sick for a week after 1992 game

Couldn't believe it after the 1996 game

Thought we were on top of the world after the 2000 game

1st one was

1978 at legion field. Dave Marler pulls muscle warming up and still throws for a gazilloin yards. Mardee McDole catches a gazillion passes, but we lose 35-20
1980. Enough said
1981. Sorta-there was a live broadcast at the Hump. Way before ESPN
1982 in Jackson. Emory becoming a memory, loses 20-12 as we had ball on Bama 7 yard line on last play. Never forget Micheal Haddox banging his fist on the ground after last play
1984 in Jackson. Don Smith runs crazy for quarter, separates shoulder, we lose when Bruce Plummer, our CB, tips pass and Bama receiver sores on 70 yard bomb.
1994. We lose blowing an 11 point lead. Bama scores on wheel route to win.
1998. JJ runs wild!
2000. Serous ***** slap of the tide. Was sitting in front of Pig's mother. Never forget her smile.
2005. We lose on two fumble returns for TD
2007. Croom's finest hour
2009 and 2011. Overmatched
2010. Peddler gave me tickets . Sat in behind 10 year old Bama fans with Mohawks died red. Lots of Walmart fans present. Oh, and their four video boards sux

1999: Bama 19-7. My first SEC road game. Very tough loss for us.
2000: MSU 29-7. They were awful and we ran all over them.
2009: Bama 31-3. We broke out the infamous black jerseys and got spanked.
2011: Bama 24-7. They lived in our backfield and knocked Relf out of that game and the Arky game following that.

All home games since 1996.

I went in 2006 to bama with friends from school (first trip was a win). I had to wait until I was of legal drinking age to attend games in Tuscaloosa with my dad and his friends so I started there in 08 with them and have been since including this year. They have a male/21 and up only rule for going to bama. He has missed one state vs bama game since 1975. It's my fault, I was in the hospital in 2002 so he skipped.

2002-2008 with the exception of 2006 (that was a mistake) because I didn't want to fool with driving myself to Tuscaloosa for the game then going home afterwards to play in a community band concert.

It had to do with the SEC schedule change going into 2002.

I saw us play Bama in 2000, 2003, 2005, and 2011.

Does anyone know what happened in 2001/2002 that caused us to get to Bama two years in a row? I don't remember this from my college days.

It happened when the SEC was going from a 5-2-1 schedule system to a 5-1-2 schedule. There were several games played at the same place in 2002 as in 2001. We played Kentucky in Starkville both those years as well.

My first college football game 1980 Jackson. Only MSU bama game I've attended

I was 12, never played football, I had no idea what I was seeing. all I remember is people hugging and kissing all over the place, rolls of toilet paper raining down from the stands, my buddies Grandpa who took us to the game, an old Jackson lawyer who went to state as an undergrad, just about having a heart attack, just bedlam. I do remember seeing that hat walking up and down the sidelines during the game. That game is why I ended up at state. Don't know if I ever want to go to another State - Alabama game.

2000 must have been the year I got to speak to the amazing Tusk (as in David Palmer "I amazes the fans, I amazes the coaches, sometimes I even amazes myself.") I went to 86 (still having nightmares over the Humphrey toss sweeps), 94 (17 you JLD, 3rd & 17 & you don't blitz?), 96 (WTF wuz you robbed about other than that little **** Bockrath that claimed to be an AD), 98 (sweet to whip that Bama *** 3 in a row), 2000 (you 17ers did quit, or at least a significant portion of the team, but the 1st time I saw you quit was under Stallings in 91 @ UF), 2003 (we 17n quit), 2005 (you were the better team, but we still 17n gave the game away), & 2007 (AJ's pick 6 was the loudest I've ever heard Scott Field). So I think that makes me 4-4. Pretty damn good for a State fan. Bad thing is, I took free tix to see us get our brains beat out Saturday.

Couple of close games against the Bear in the mid-late '60s as a student in Jackson. All home games since 1995, and two games in Tuscaloosa (1999 & 2010).

I'm 6-6 in my lifetime. Pretty damn good.

94 -Close game, loss
96 - 17-16, win
97 - JJ dominated, win
98 - JJ again, win
99 - loss
2000 -Most dominant performance against Bama we've ever had, win
03 - loss
04 - loss
05 - loss
06 - Jimmy Johns NTFO, win
07 - Johnson pick-6, win
2011 - loss

Considering we've only beaten Alabama 13 times in school history, I feel pretty damn lucky.

92, 94 - I would assume they were home games for us so I was there.
96 - still have a piece of the goal post from that one (upright from the south endzone)
97 - Only road trip to Bama

86, 88, 90, 96, 99, 2000, 07, and 09. The first three were when I was a kid, so

I don't remember a whole lot of the games. I remember being stuck in traffic all the way out to the old barn on 82 going to Starkville for the 1986 game. Don't know why that's my main memory from that game. 96 was insane and COLD. The skydiver that about killed himself, and watching the ball fall incomplete on Bama's last offensive play. I was looking for flags to fly expecting the refs to bail them out. I remember a Bama fan after the game saying the world must be ending. 99 we were flat out robbed by the ref throwing a late holding call on the punt return well after the play was on the other end of the field. 2000 was a beatdown. 07 was nuts, especially the INT return. Loud as hell. 09 was a major disappointment. Everybody was pumped, and we could do nothing on offense. Absolutely nothing. 3-5 is not too bad against bama.

Impressive, Zilla! the 79-86 less 80 is kinda a bummer tho...

It is worse than you think. My family moved to Montgomery in the 70s, and I was in High School in 1980. We went to the game in '79, and my father was planning a trip to Jackson for the 1980 game. Another guy he worked with was an MSU grad, so they bought tickets planning to make it a fater/son trip. A few weeks into the season, the Bama grads in their office got wind of the trip, and convinced them to dump their sons and make it an all guys trip. To be fair to my dad (RIP), I think the other son was not very interested in going, and I was kind of 50/50 on making the trip since I thought MSU was going to get crushed.

So, I listened to John Forney call the game.....and my dad felt like a total heel for screwing me out of that one. I did manage to parlay that guilt trip into a few favors over the next year, though.

82-86 I was in School at State. In 87, I got a similar screw job with nearly similar results. I was in Law School at the Capstone then, and I was working at NorthRiver Yacht club. The game was in Birmingham, at night. I asked my boss (a big Auburn fan) to let me off early for the game, and he didn't care for that idea. Then his wife called, and one of their friends had invited THEM to go to the game, so he left early and I was stuck listening to Eli Gold while I cleaned golf clubs put up carts. State nearly won, with Alabama scoring late to win 21-18. My boss said he had never cheered for Alabama so hard in his life, because he knew he could not face me at work on Sunday if MSU had pulled out the win!
