I’ve noticed over the past few years with the bigger 5A/6A schools they have tv monitors on the sideline under tents. Is there any schools 4A or below who also use tv monitors to make in game adjustments?

A lot of schools use Hudl to film during the game to make adjustments. There are two cameras, one in the end zone and one above the press box. Coaches use iPads on the sidelines to view plays and make adjustments.

In northern va schools use big tv screen monitors to make in game adjustments on the spot. I just haven’t seen that on the 4A level or below and was curious

It’s probably not worth it for 4A 3A 2A 1A. Most of these schools have players going both ways unlike your bigger 5A 6A schools who can 2 platoon. How are you going to make defensive adjustments during the game when the guy you need for talk to is your center.

As @catchtds and @lyhsports stated, Heritage-Lynchburg is the only school below 5A/6A that I have seen use it. Also, as @10ac it's difficult to make in game adjustments sometimes for 4A and below schools since they usually have so many guys going both ways.

I’ve seen some Amherst coaches on the sideline with iPads, they may be doing some type of adjustments too.

I just purchased Hudl Sideline for my team and it came in on Friday. It's pretty cool and we used Ipads on the sidelines to help make adjustments. Helpful tool and helps answer questions right away. I know Hopewell has a TV on the sidelines.

We just got hudl sideline a few weeks ago. We've been able to use it the past two games. Hoping to get TV on sideline next season. Its a great tool for adjustments. With our injury bug this year, it's been tough as most of our guys are going both ways plus special teams but it's very much an advantage for coaching staffs IMO.

What about teams using digital LED down markers? Louisa uses one now.
IMO, a waste of funds. Although the new digital down markers look cool, they are costly. 2-3x the cost of a standard Pro Down style marker that most schools use, and even more than that if you use the old fashioned flip style. The Pro Down style are just plastic and glue and if not treated gently you will soon damage the interior mechanism (and they cost around $300-$400 just for the down marker; more if you get a complete chain set with it).
