Twas the day before the regional, anticipation was great.
There was a tangible excitement all over OUR STATE.

For everyone knew that it wouldn’t be long,
til Dudy Noble was packed, 12-thousand strong.

See, it’d been ten long years we’d all waited in line,
Before the 2013 Diamond Dogs said “It’s now our time.”

They proved their point early, winning 17 straight.
They didn’t quite win ‘em all, but left little room for debate.

Time after time State sent opponents home with a frown,
usually after a Holder hook had cut them all down.

Renfroe smashed bombs, Ross pitched every day,
Frazier, Bradford and company all lead the way.

By the time we left Hoover, there was absolutely no doubt,
that when we got back to Starkville, the Dogs would be let out.

Now the loungers are preparing, the media is gathering each fact,
It’s an absolute certainty, the tradition-rich Bulldogs ARE back.

So put on your maroon and white, for it’s just about time
to push MSU towards Omaha and trip number nine!

Just a little FYI, I've been reading Six Pack for years and this was my first post (save for a couple on the tickets board). Just figured it was a good time to share something since my always-running mind kind of came up with this on the fly today. So anyway, enjoy it, criticize it, do whatever, but HAIL STATE!

Now, that's a weekly thread I could actually open at work!

I actually saw the poem through email and posted it to SPS without searching the pages well enough beforehand. If you're the mysterious author behind this, JTC, then I say, Bravo to you, Sir.

Thank you kind sir. I can indeed claim it as a JTC original, for better or worse. As for weekly editions, I'm sure a regional win could at least spark the fire to release a "Part 2".
