This! Greene, IMO you should read this a couple of times and really take a moment and let it sink in.Your mind is made up that Dylan’s defensive intensity is not going to cut it based on a handful of games you watched from his junior year of high school?
Our program has been built on defense out of necessity. That was the best path to making us competitive at a time when high level recruits wouldn’t even consider coming to Rutgers. Pike builds his team’s identity around the players he has.
The Ohio State example is a bad comparison. That team had one late first rounder on it (Sensabaugh went 28th). We’re talking about a team with two (potentially three depending on what happens with Gavin) first round picks. We were a top 10 defense last year with a rotation that featured Paul Mulcahy, Cam Spencer, Aundre Hyatt, Dean Reiber and Oskar Palmquist, you don’t think Pike could get Dylan and Ace to play decent enough team defense?
