Michael Beasley committed to Kansas State because of Dalonte Hill not Huggins.

Hill was an assistant coach at Charlotte, where Beasley originally committed. Hill then left Charlotte for K-State. Beasley reopened his recruitment and committed to K-State.

Beasley's commitment had little to nothing to do with Huggins. Beasley would have committed to the University of Idaho if that's where Dalonte Hill went.

That's why he didn't reopen his recruitment when Huggins left for WVU.

Whatever - I don’t follow recruiting much at all. That has nothing at all to do with my point - who was responsible for his initial recruitment…

If Huggins had been there to coach Beasley that would have represented a parallel example to what Green was saying. K-State made the tournament with Beasley but actually won more games the prior season with less heralded recruits when Huggs was coach (12 losses both years). But Frank Martin coached Beasley so as I said - not a good example there since 2 difference coaches. Green might point to Oscar Tschibwe transferring (not working out playing for Huggs because he’s a kid with a one and done attitude - I.e. thought he was going to leave).

You said Huggins recruited Michael Beasley’s class. My point is Beasley never would have been there if the Delonte Hill didn't leave Charlotte and go to Kansas State.

But like you also said, you don’t follow recruiting much at all.

It's not the schools...it is entities and individuals.

I honestly don't care either way if these 2 come. I am not convinced one and dones really help the program.
I started another thread asking if you would rather have Harper for one year or Teng for three Years. Except for how it might help future recruiting, I'd take Teng for three.

Huggins is a defensive minded coach (like Pike) who coached long enough to have some history coaching a few elite recruits. He was the coach when Beasley was recruited by K-State (even if one of his assistants deserved the credit for the commitment). Frank Martin (not Huggs) ended up coaching Beasley’s team which made the tournament but lost the same number of games as K-State’s team from the prior year. If Huggs had been the coach, this would have been an example illustrative of Green’s point. That’s all I was saying.

He had a solid NBA career - just never turned into a pro star the way projected.
