I've never understood ANY band uniforms. What's the purpose of all the frilly stuff i.e. feathers on hats, shoulder ornaments, spats on feet, etc. blah blah blah. And why are they almost always wool and long sleeves?

Well, they are ugly, and they never change. BUT, no band uniform that I've ever seen is as ugly, no make that FUGLY, as our own Famous Maroon Band (FMB) uniform. They look like they were sewn together from sewing room floor scrap pieces. It's no wonder that they aren't worn until halfway through the football season (which no other school I'm aware of does).
