Apparently there was some disagreements on the discipline handed down by staff to Tyree because of coming back from late for Bowl preparations and practices.

Kid didn’t feel the punishment was fair for not abiding by team rules. He wanted a free pass
A whole lot of spinning is going on up in Morgantown. The kid may have had issues, but HCNB used to gush often about how good he was last season.
But Neal Brown doesn't bend over for those that think they're better than the program. Rules are rules for a reason.
Perhaps Marshall should go after him. After all they don't believe in rules.
No need to go to little Marshall when most, if not all, of the SEC programs would welcome Smith with welcome arms.

So when he got back the staff told him he was not starting in the bowl game and he blew up on coaches and stormed out of the Puskar Center and went back to his apartment and did not practice.
Next time they saw him was on the flight to the bowl game abs thus he never played in the bowl but one series.
