I know that Whitney wanted to go to school this summer, and I know that Cohen wanted him to play summer ball, but I figured that they would eventually come to some sort of a compromise.

Parks is a Cohen recruit, so that's not a surprise to me.

Been trying to figure out the 5 walkons from last season
Roster limits for this season were 35 (30 scholy, 5 walkons)
but goto 27 scholy and 8 walkons next year.

Because remember, Parks committed to Tulane out of JUCO and signed a LOI with them. Then, when Cohen came on board, he wanted to go to State, and Cohen was fine with that, but Rick Jones, Tulane's coach didn't want to release him from his scholarship, and wanted Parks to sit out this year.

Cohen was able to work something out where he was eligible to play this year without sitting out, so that probably involved Parks walking on.

Parks dropped a summer school course that he needed in order to gain acceptance to Tulane University. Since he was not accepted into school, then he had to be released from his LOI.
