He was the AD. Did the search firm push Wilson on us?

Brad made the decision and Rick preferred another candidate. That is what I was told last week by a big donor. I don’t really care at this point just info by someone in the know.

Either he doesn't put any credence in what anybody says, (in this case you) or he just can't help himself from bitching at the world. They are all doing it wrong is his mantra. I think he saw what you said the first time, and blew it off as poppycock.

On a lighter note...if NIL transfers don't come into play, Carpenter to Williams should be a common theme in the future, whoever the coach is...

Our conference will have a NIL salary cap by 2025 per Tim Pernetti. That likely won't change a thing in terms of competitive advantage or disadvantage to TU since we'll be buying in to that model. What we have going on right now is a textbook case of escalation of commitment... Throwing more time, money and resources at a failed outcome (fatso as head coach and a team with no heart / will). The administration can choose to cut its losses and move forward in a better direction (fire Wilson and seek out a coach with some kind of specialization / edge), or continue to allow the program to atrophy and founder. We are terrible at every position, and every position coach bears some responsibility, so this really is a unique opportunity to clean house from top to bottom and reinvent the culture, energy, program and product on the field. Wilson is an unmitigated failure, outwardly and inwardly.
