IMO, the additions to the Big XII are on a par with the repetitive cellar dwellers of several other conferences. Difference is that they are a few at tbe bottom; these are to be the conference. I have the same feeling I would have were we talking about I adding (for football)—Duke, Wake Forest, current BC, Rutgers, Northwestern (historically), Vanderbilt, and a few others to join Kansas. I don’t see ISU maintaining their currrnt position after the loss of Texas and Oklahoma. I see Baylor returning to being a bottom dweller when their cheating is fully exposed with penalty. Kansas State has had a good run under Snyder. He is gone and I believe so is the team accomplishments. Texas Tech has no real history of success. TCU has a good coach andl their success will also wain. This proposed conference is, to me, on a par with the one with James Madison. If we are swept along with these ‘also rans’, I fear we suffer from our residing in the run down, decaying neighborhood. We will be judged harshly by our association with neighbors for which respect is difficult ( or impossible) to obtain . The beginning of an assured slow depth without hope of revival.
