SEC head coaches trash visiting locker rooms when ranking the best

SEC head coaches had a good time trashing opposing locker rooms in the conference when asked to rank the best ones. Spoiler alert, it didn’t seem like any coaches had fond memories or tidbits of playing away from home!
When you talk about home field advantage in the SEC, the visiting locker rooms are certainly part of the equation. Most coaches didn’t name any school specifically, well, except for Eli Drinkwitz.
They weren’t afraid to take shots, but perhaps these schools should take it as a badge of honor. Don’t make your foes in the SEC comfortable!
“First of all, that’s a challenging question because they’re all terrible,” Florida coach Billy Napier said. That’s a good way to sum it up coach.
Vanderbilt coach Clark Lea kept it simple. We can focus on a lot of things in the stadium, but the visiting locker room isn’t one of them.
“We take a lot of pride in a lot of things, but the visiting accommodations are often to be desired,” Lea said.
Drinkwitz may take a page out of Bobby Petrino at this point. Intentionally make an SEC visiting locker room worse.
“A great story Mark Robinson tells is that when Coach Petrino was the head coach of Arkansas, they actually paid to make their visitors’ locker rooms worse,” Drinkwitz said. “The worst? Tennessee, not even close. Terrible.”
Oklahoma coach Brent Venables, who’s only in his second season in the SEC, was a little more upbeat. He didn’t complain as much as other coaches as far as the conditions were concerned.
“I went to Auburn and I had my own little cabana,” Venables said. “It wasn’t a cabana, but I had my own little house. They need to get a TV in there.”

Kalen DeBoer, who’s in the same boat as Venables, doesn’t know everything about the SEC quite yet. In fact, he doesn’t he even know what the visiting locker room looks like in his own stadium!
“I don’t even know what our visitors locker room looks like in Bryant Denny Stadium,” DeBoer said. Maybe he doesn’t want to find out.
Texas A&M coach Mike Elko likes the tradition it seems. If they’re doing it to you, you might as well do it back.
“I don’t know that anyone has a good visiting (locker room),” Elko said. “I think it’s kind of like a tradition to have a bad visiting locker room.”
Lane Kiffin, ever the troll, didn’t have anything nice to say. But the Ole Miss coach kept it short and sweet regarding visiting locker rooms.
“I can’t say there’s a really good one,” Kiffin said. We might tend to agree with you coach.
Kirby Smart even took a shot at his own school. Now, Georgia might renovate the visiting locker room to make it better. Or worse right?
“There should be a documentary done on SEC road locker rooms,” Smart said. “They’re decrepit, including ours.”
