We lost at home to UT as 7.5 underdogs. Why are we more confident we’ll win away against a bigger favorite?

If State don't turn ball over, Florida wins but I think state beats the spread.

I’m not sure we win but that’s a big number for a pretty bad offense like UF. I think this is going to be a low scoring game either way.

Without winning this one the path to a bowl looks pretty bleak.
I disagree. Going into the season it did. There are winnable games on our schedule outside of Florida. No team has impressed me. Do I think we beat TX or GA probably not but the other four do not scare me. They are all beatable. This is the weakest SEC conference I have seen in a while. I wish we had the 2018 team or 2014 team this season.

We have a very good chance to win Saturday.
I’d be shocked if we score more than 10 points. Florida’s defense is very good. It’ll probably be a fairly close, low scoring game. But I don’t think we will ever make a serious threat at winning this game. I think we have a much better shot against Texas than Florida.

You have to ask this question, is Billy getting fired if he loses this game? If the answer is no, then great, you have an excellent shot of winning. If the answer is yes, then you are screwed and should be prepared to face your toughest opponent all season

No. Result will be similar to the Texas A&M game.
Some of you all on here have no clue. Florida ain’t Texas AM. Hell there not even as good as Tenn. Interesting facts both state and UF are giving up exactly 119 points on the year. UF offense has only scored 134 points all year

I don’t know if State wins but, if I was a gambling man I’d take the points. Line opened at 10 and has dropped to 8.5. Seems non-MSU fans feel the same way.

I hope you’re right. I just don’t see it. But I didn’t think we’d beat Arizona state either.

I don’t think Florida is a world beater by any means. I do think Florida will stop our run and force Shapen to win the game, which I don’t think he can. And on offense, Florida will just follow the script that others have and that is to just run the ball. A&M rushed for nearly 300 yards against us, I expect Florida to do similar. I don’t think we can generate the pass rush to make Lagway throw the interceptions the way LSU did.

If Reese and Smith play I don’t hate our chances. I think it’s a decent matchup for our defense, they have a very inconsistent QB and haven’t really run the ball with great success. To be fair they’ve played a tough schedule so far, but they’re 14th in the league in rush offense.

Defensively they’re talented for sure, but have been a little boom or bust. Run defense has been just ok, they’ve shut some teams down and others had some success. Good pass rush but they’ve been susceptible to long passing plays when they don’t get to the QB.

We probably can’t win if our OL continues to be a disaster on every front. But with some semblance of a decent OL showing, yeah there’s a path.

One thing I think that may be working in our favor is I suspect we will be fired up to play this game and I’m not sure Florida will be. 2-4 coming off a long string of tough games. If we can jump out to a lead and get the crowd disgruntled, they may lay down.

I don't know if a lot of people are more confident.

Because of the way our SEC schedule lays out, it's a similar story every week. We were always going to have two pretty unwinnable games (Georgia and @TAMU) and six possible, but unlikely wins (TN, Texas, OM, @MizzOU, @UF, @ARK).

The hope is we find one or two wins among the winnable games. Kinda likely we get one somewhere, less so we get more than one.

I got us +9.5, I'm not confident we'll cover, but us coming off a bye and with coaching uncertainty, I jumped on it.

Pretty good analysis. I think we’ll be ok defensively vs their QB, who is average at best. Keys will be can we run the ball & can we protect the QB. Both are questionable. I’d feel a lot better if this game was in Starkville.

You do realize that any credibility you might have had went out the window with “lay down against Florida”?
