Random callout. I mean… they started using that logo in 1982. If you go to helmethistory.com and look at most teams around that time, you’ll see that wasn’t a banner era for helmet logos.
This will be a 'Hot Take' because some really liked this one but I wasn't one of them
That helmet was great.
That game also birthed what would become the Mike Leach sweatshirt.
Hard to get more boring than this (Penn State) unless it's the entire Alabama uniform!!
That helmet looks like it was created by someone to stop dudes in Laos from making counterfeits
Picture of one of the airplanes. For the purpose of honoring that ANG unit, the helmet was perfect.
Alabama looks like they bought some sweatshirts from WalMart. But even that's better than some of the crazy ones we occasionally see.
I really don't get all the hate for the Croom helmets. The helmet isn't much different than Wisconsin's or Tennessee's.
I typically dislike State wearing anything or than Maroon and white but those Sonny Montgomery helmets were awesome.

Well Tennessees helmets suck too. And Wisconsin’s is pretty mediocre too. At least it’s not just a plain block W.
Which Mike Leach sweat shirt was birthed from a Mississippi State game played in 2018? Did we reuse that helmet in 2020 or 2021?
He’s referring to the STATE on the jersey chests…same font as Leach’s sweatshirt.
Not the helmet. There were some leftover sweatshirts with a plain block “STATE” on them, and Leach somehow found a leftover one and really liked it. They really became popular after that.
