This may the biggest takeaway from this game besides getting the big win. We honestly looked better with him running the point than we did with Kriisa in the game.
Yeah i love Kerr and he is a capable player but he doesn't have that natural feel of where the ball needs to go that a point guard needs.

Ehh man the first half concerns are valid. They gotta start better in these games. But the second half is a coaching clinic from pope. And those 6 guys who played in the second half balled the hell out. So damn proud of this group
Concerns are fine, but all the ones saying I am done, we are cooked, Pope can’t coach at this level, all that are goofy and deserve the criticism. He’s turned this into a good team without any real stars, missing our PG down 18 on the road and figures out a way to win. Nobody should give up on this squad after seeing this team fight. If half the board played on this team 5 guys would already be kicked off, and we would never win because everyone would give up on a player after one half.

Point God Jaxson. I've been thinking for a while now Kerr should play off ball some. Put him in with Butler or Jaxson at the point and let him run off screens and get shots up, and be a secondary ball handler.

A couple of things have stood out to me through 9 games

1) We probably DO lack a bit on the talent level compared to some other teams. There's quite a bit of question marks on this team.

2) However, this team has a ton of fight.

3) We have a coach that knows how to make halftime adjustments that have a positive effect on the game.

I need to see more tho. Very good teams don't go down double digits to begin with. Let's see how we do with the rest of the schedule which is absolutely a beast this season.

But this is encouraging.

So glad I took the temptation of typing a bunch of negativity by shutting down my computer.

Great team effort in the 2nd half. Gonzaga didn't give that game away. UK TOOK IT!!! LFG!!!
Hahaha my view is I can say whatever in the game thread but just don’t post in others during the game. My view is this thread is like a live chat as if you were watching with your buddies. You react emotionally based on the ups and downs of the game. Nothing you say here should be held against you.

Now, starting a wacko thread about Pope being worse than Cal? That will haunt you.

And by the way, after tonight I would say at Gonzaga is probably the fifth best team in the SEC

I don't know why I got laughed at but I think Tennessee, Alabama and Auburn are all better than Gonzaga.
Maybe, but they are a damn good squad. I can just as easily see them winning most conferences and being a final 4 threat again.

Legit criticism is fine, being upset with bad play is fine. It’s the dumb Pope can’t coach here, X player is useless kinda stuff is unwarranted.

It's valid.

Tho I think that speaks more to the strength of those teams and less to how Gonzaga is as a team.

Auburn UT and Bama are currently 1, 2 and 7th.

Id hold it against myself more than I'd be worried about what anyone else would say about what I said.

Dude stfu we just got our second win over a top ten team in 9 games with a brand new team. If you need to see more then idk what could possibly impress you.

Those who attacked our coach were exposed as one of two things or both: ignorance or Cal lovers.

Pope can certainly cosch, he is a damn good at making adjustments. I will never leave. I thought the ceiling of this team was looking kinda different tonight, I’ll own that I was wrong, this team just fights all damn game. Robinson was bad in the first half and hadn’t shown fight all year. I’m glad he did in the second half, he needs to do that next game as well. We are a heat of the moment fanbase, always have been always will be. This team is fun because they fight, with the fight hiensltu that’s enough to where I will not give up on them. I still don’t know their ceiling but that’s a long way away. Let’s just enjoy them man, I’m gonna follow your lead.

We did better with our 3rd string point guard. This is what coaching can do. For those who think it is about the number of stars, you are wrong. Obviously, talented players are needed, but great coaching can overcome a lot.
I hope he keeps using Jaxson like this going forward.

I hope this unlocks Jaxson and I hope Pope uses him in a similar fashion the rest of the year. Seems like he’s more aggressive and engaged with the ball in his hands.

That’s why I didn’t comment much early. I felt like e could still win. Don’t know why but I really trust Pope to give us a chance. He won’t beat us himself either ball coaching often I know that already.

I don't think anyone does.

But we are here for the ride.

Yeah even down 16 at half I kind of felt comfortable. I wasn't sure we'd win but I felt we had a run in them.
