Y’all you may think I’m crazy but I think this win is bigger than the Duke win for us
We were coming off a loss, without our starting pg, then without our backup pg down the stretch. Came back from 18 down to win on a DEFENSIVE play in OT
That’s freaking amazing to me

That’s why I didn’t comment much early. I felt like e could still win. Don’t know why but I really trust Pope to give us a chance. He won’t beat us himself either ball coaching often I know that already.
I just didn’t think they had the energy tonight, I was wrong on that end

Pope had more defensive looks in 9 games than Cal did in 15 years. Probably more inbound plays too.
He had more looks THIS game! Goodness what a win. Been a long time since I've felt like this after a win. Yeah I was hyped about Duke but we fought all the time that game. This was a total 180 in every facet of the game. I'm juiced!

Definitely. The road vs neutral court. Zags might be better than Duke when it's all said and done. Without Butler. Then without Kerr. Very impressive.

I was very discouraged and hoping Pope would get things settled and sorted. I'm not sure when, but maybe around 12:00 I started thinking we were going to win.

We've got one hell of a coach.

Me too, I checked when it got to 6 and turned it back on. I just had a feeling if we could ever tie it then we would win. I was watching the game and Thor Ragnarok, started watching more Thor at halftime but kept checking and then tuned in from. 12 minutes on. I’m superstitious during games so I didn’t wanna turn it back on all the way because we came back while I wasn’t watching lol. I like to keep the flow going,

Pope can certainly cosch, he is a damn good at making adjustments. I will never leave. I thought the ceiling of this team was looking kinda different tonight, I’ll own that I was wrong, this team just fights all damn game. Robinson was bad in the first half and hadn’t shown fight all year. I’m glad he did in the second half, he needs to do that next game as well. We are a heat of the moment fanbase, always have been always will be. This team is fun because they fight, with the fight hiensltu that’s enough to where I will not give up on them. I still don’t know their ceiling but that’s a long way away. Let’s just enjoy them man, I’m gonna follow your lead.
We are a fanbase suffering from PTSD because of what we endured the past 10 years. We had someone trying to convince us that there is no place in college basketball for zone defenses. We had some good shooters that didn't get much playing time because they weren't good at man defense. It will take a little while for us to get past the PTSD but we as a fanbase will get there.

How many times have opposing teams hit desperation shots against us with seconds remaining. I’ve never seen anything like it, we should have won by at least by 3 to 5 points but Nolan Hickman shot that one from the colon and was well guarded. The sh— keeps happening to us, I don’t see how we overcome all of the things that didn’t go our way to win that game, especially with Kerr going out and Butler not playing. I was so afraid we would turn the ball over without our next to best ball handler out, what a win!

Robinson taking over the point, forced him to be more involved in the offense. He was too much for the Gonzaga guards.

You are correct, but it makes that game even harder to accept. However, the difference between the two games is that the Clemson game was more like football than basketball.
Exactly what I told my buddy. Gonzaga is at least playing basketball and not football like Clemson.

That always gives us a chance. We are good at basketball.

We did but Kriisa was huge tonight. He played his heart out and made some big plays to get us back into it.
If I wanted to get nitpicky, I still thought he forced a couple of shots, but yes, he was better tonight when we really needed him to be with Butler out. He definitely contributed tonight after basically giving us nothing against Clemson.

The team started the second half like they were ready to fight. I posted throughout the second half that we would be comfortably in control of the game if not for the halfhearted effort in the first half. I was concerned if they would run out of gas in the second half trying to overcome the 16-point deficit.
