The problem tonight is we have an entire lineup of guys who can’t create their own shots.

Not having Butler tonight and having Kerr run the show is showing not for the good either.

Kerr isn’t our issue so far. You can dislike the guy if you want but everyone is getting scored on while no one on our end is scoring at all. If you want to be mad about defense, get upset at Brea. He’s putrid on that end.

Garrison is not good. I have no idea what pope or anyone else sees in him.

Pope didn't have a lot of options when he put this team together. Had to put together what he could. That will get better in the coming years.

The problem is that we only have 2 guards with a tight handle... Butler and Kerr... and Kerr is not a real threat to drive. With Lamont out today, we'll probably have 20 turnovers

Gonzaga, who IS a mid major, looks like a P5 program.
3 straight losses to these guys is us getting owned.

They’ve made 9 straight Sweet 16s which is insane. They are a mid major by name only; top 5 current program otherwise

Brea is our best 3 point shooter. Why do coaches don't make specific plays for them to shoot or get open? I thought Pope would do that for Brea.

Where are these pick and rolls at for him?

Because the other coach is drawing up a defense to not let Brea get good looks. Easy answer.

They need to pass the ball better to get guys better shots.

You have to have guys who can handle the ball, and guys who are willing to run the system they were taught. Against better competition it requires more effort to get to those spots in a constant motion offense, so it comes down to whether the kids are willing to put in that effort.

Pope is going to have to redesign the offense somewhat. Teams are crowding the perimeter and we have no one except maybe Butler who can beat his man off the dribble. Garrison has regressed, and it’s hurting us tremendously as other teams don’t have to guard him outside the foul line. Williams too, to an extent. Got to rely heavily on Carr inside.
