It's UGLY. I'm trying to find a silver lining. The defense has been decent, but I can't tell if it's that the defense is good or Nicholls just can't make shots. We look terrible. No shooters. Can't make a free throw. Not sure where the scoring will come from against a good team. I'm just hoping this was a case of nerves?? Unforced turnovers. No offense running. This is why I never post mid-game.
Let me offer a few.

We are not at mid season form with a group of guys that haven’t played together. It’s not mid season.

As I type this our score is double, even though we are struggling with shooting.

You can always play defense. We are and this in spite of a number of technical blunders.

We do have some key injuries at a time when floor leadership is most important.

We are missing open shots. That’s much better than missing hotly contested shots. We’re getting looks. They will start falling eventually.

I could go on but there are worse ways to open. This is but one spot on the graph. What’s important is how we show improvement. I think the euphoria after the Purdue game led to some crazy and foolish expectations. We have the makings of a very good ball club. Let’s see if they grow as a team,

I know I'll get flamed for this..

But Nicolls was kenpom 167th last year. Middle of the road. A lot of the same roster returns, a lot of seniors. They beat LSU last year, lost to Maryland by like 7. Hung with MissSt.

I think were doing about what we should be doing to a team like this. Were doubling them up right now. Probably shouldnt expect a 40pt win, unless we are looking at the bottom 25% of the league, especially with some injuries, and its game 1.
It’s really just the shooting that is the concern. We're missing free throws and wide open threes from good shooters at a record pace.
