Heyer up. Got to love the no gloves for Heyer. Becker steals second. Heyer falls behind 0-2 before swinging through a sinker.

Hjelle gets a hard hit fly ball to left for out one. Looked worse off the bat than it ended up being. Tech then bunts for an infield single.
Hjelle then hits the next batter. That hurts to give that up to a .125 hitter. UK catches Tech stealing for out 2!! Great gun! 9 hole hitter then skies out to center to end the Tech 4th. Big time flip of the script for UK!
Sounds like the TTU starter may have been experiencing an issue with the cold weather. They've lost another good starter already heading into this season, so they're maybe being cautious.

Cottam falls behind before going down swinging. Tech pitcher wants to work much faster than UK allowing. Johnson gets good wood on it but right at the left fielder.
Dawson squared but takes a ball. He's swinging away now. Drives one off the yellow on the top of wall in left. He missed it by inches. Man that would have been huge.
Harpenau had only given up 1 hit before that Dawson double. Squires slaps it to third for the final out.

Hjelle finally retires leadoff hitter Holt on a line drive to Pompey who takes it at about the shoulders.
Hjelle then gets a strikeout. He should have had it a pitch earlier but didn't get the check swing call.
The Jelly Man falls behind early and works to a full count in a nice battle that ends in a line drive out right at Johnson in right field.

Hjelle has really settled in after that rocky first inning. In a really good groove now. Going to B5: UK 3, Texas Tech 3
Aklinski really struggling with the outside slider but he works it to another full count. UK has done very well getting the pitch counts up. He ends up drawing a walk.
The TT pitcher seemed to have lost his focus, and the Cats got to him to tie it up at 3-3. Hjelle had that rocky 1st inning, but has really settled in.
Tech has a mound visit to talk about this. Becker seeming like he's going to bunt here. Probably a good strategy. Becker puts down a beautiful bunt down third but it rolls foul. That one would have gone for a hit. Becker gets hit by a pitch to take first and move everyone up.

Checking in. Had the baseball game on TV2 in the living room during the basketball game. What a great Friday to be off work. Love how our bats have been working the pitch counts.
