We ARE still a baseball powerhouse. A giant that's asleep doesn't make it any less a giant. Thats like calling UT a mediocre football school, or saying the same thing about Bama in 2004. They are down, but they WILL be back sooner or later with a vengeance. We will be back in baseball. Maybe not to the level that we dominated in the 80's, before anyone else in the country outside USC, Wichita St, and Az St CARED about baseball. Too many people care too much about our program for it to fade completely into obscurity.
We are not a "lower budget" baseball school either. We have the money for this sport to compete at the highest level. Top 10 in the country. It just so happens that we share a conference with 6 others on the same level.
