One negative observation: Why doesn’t Coach Jeff Walz play our subs more when we are blowing out the opposition?

Oh wait we don’t have any subs!

I agree our subs are really good this could be a special year for us. The only negative is it is going to be hard to see them play in person. If this was a normal year this team would set an attendance record.

We are a skilled 12 deep-very impressed with Russell, Green and Parker. Not to mention Cochran, K and A Smith, Haley, etc.-well you get the picture. We can go fast and for 40 minutes.

My only come concern is playing a team with one, or more, very skilled post players. NC St has Cunane - one person. But, if someone has a 6’4”-6’5” Center and then another 6’’3-4” Forward. That sort of size could be a problem defensively. I’m not worried about scoring points though.

Duke has a 6'5" post player in Jade Williams who evidently can pass the ball and a 6'3" wing in Akinbode-James. Williams is a McDonald All American and a three year starter for the Tarheels. The game at Cameron on Wednesday might be interesting. Akinbode -James bio says she is majoring in electrical engineering and computer science which is quite a feat for someone on a basketball scholarship.

Good call. DePaul got some rebounds that i found to be a bit worrisome. That’s why I stated what I did about a large frontcourt combo. On the other hand, if we run it can really wear out a big. They also have to guard us and when 4/5 on our side can shoot from all over the court - they will have to come out of the paint and guard us which helps with rebounding. If they shoot decently... they should be in good shape. A bad shooting night could be problematic. With so many viable options I feel pretty good that someone will find the range - they certainly don’t rely on just one fantastic shooter.

What I saw from Cochran, Dixon and Parker last night I am convinced we have a solid front line for physical inside play. In the past we have had to rely upon one or two inside players (ie Sam, Kylee or Myisha) with no supporting cast. This year it is different.

I hope to see more of Ramani. My hopes were she could provide some interior defense, i.e. shot blocking. Just need more opportunities for her to play.

Ramani has the makings for being a top notch player. Her body needs a bit more strength. Reminds me of Kylee her first year. Cochran and Dixon are much stronger. Ramani will benefit from playing against them during practice.
