Briscoe missed 4, Ulis missed 15. Briscoe actually shot 4/8 overall, which is really good. He just has no business shooting 3 three point shots. If Ulis shoots 20 times in a game, I have to hope he'd hit 7-8 of them at worst case. Today he just hit 5. He had an off game shooting, happens to everyone.
Tyler missed shots he normally makes.
Briscoe missed shots he never makes and they turned into big buckets for Vandy. I know Cal tells his players to shoot the open shot but I think that's a mistake. Give that green light to some of the guys but guys like Briscoe need to be told to drive the ball. That's what he does best, he can't shoot but dude can get tough buckets in the paint. Do that.

Cal said a couple weeks ago that Briscoe is making shots in practice I wonder if the green light is because of that. Cause if he starts hitting shots in games and all of a sudden we have a fourth outside scorer then Willis comes back we will be tough as nails. I bet if he doesn't hit that shot in our last couple reg season games that the green light goes out. I hope anyway

Just show Ulis is human, did not have a great shooting game, i thank Brisco outside shooting killed us, they give him wide open shots and he could not hit them, he should be driving the ball, I don't know why Cal is not playing Mulder more.

Cal is smarter than that. By now he has to know that IB can't make them in a game. But he's so good at driving the lane and getting tough points. He's effective when he does that but they have to be layups because he can't make 5 footers either. Or better yet, draw the defense in and find an open guy. But he kills our offense when he takes long twos.

Is it me, Or did ulis try to dunk in the final 2 minutes last night but realized e cant get up & whiffed on the layup??
Yeah, I think Tyler was surprised how open he was when he got there and I also think he was surprised at how close he was to actually dunking the ball. For someone at 5'8" he got pretty close to the rim.
But when he missed that layup I knew we were done. It was deflating. Missed free throws, missed threes that were wide open and missed defensive assignments hurt us at the end.

If Willis doesn't make it back we go at least S16 but if he's back the sky is the limit IMHO. It will be a neutral court and none of this BS home cook'n with the refs. I don't believe in refs costing games, and don't think they have for us, but they've impacted every game we've lost of late.
If Willis doesn't make it back {he will} we don't get past first weekend.

Ulis' shot looked really flat to me in the VU game...probably because of fatigue, but maybe it's something technical. Normally he has that sweet trajectory and tickles the twine. He seemed to be line driving those J's and hitting the back iron. In terms of Briscoe, it's hard to believe he was this bad in high school. Might be a mental thing with him...his stroke doesn't look that bad technically...but less than 40% from the line is killing us. Hawkins anyone?
