Funny. I think Oxford's got this idea that they have to make a Youtube song for everything, now. Bianco's kid made one before Oxford lost to Picayune in the final talking about how they'd walk away with the title.

Serious question, no offense to farmers, and I did grow up around farms etc... But how many people that graduate from state really do anything with agriculture anyway? Like 5% maybe? Probably as many people as UM?

Business, Engineering, Education, etc.... is what we do. It is just ironic the whole "farmer" comments

I like the outdoors, like to hunt, etc... And all over our great state there are fans for both schools from every demographic. Rich to poor. Living in mansions and trailers.

I have seen long haired mullet people wearing OleMiss gear everywhere. Been to stock shows and seen people show pigs, cows, etc... Wearing Olemiss gear. My nephews grew up on farms, showed animals, and one graduated from UM pharmacy school. He is a huge OleMiss fan. Still lives in rural MS.

How many pieces of OleMiss cammo have you seen? How may trucks and other non BMWs have you seen with UM stuff on it.

I laugh at this because it is just bizarre and always has been.

BTW. I graduated from state in 1991 with a marketing degree and work for the one of the worlds largest IT manufacturers and do VERY well. So HaillState!!!

I drive a truck! :)

I had a friend of mine that visited from Kentucky for the game this year sum it up this way: MSU makes you feel at home and welcomes you in, Ole Miss wants you to tour their home from a distance so you can go off and tell everyone else how great it is and that you wish you had it that good.

Well said.

The hairy armpits stereotype is new to me. I've heard every other stereotype in the song a thousand times from countless bears, but the hairy pits is a first.

The boys in oxford have been, and always will be, intimidated by the men of starkville. Think about it, oxford is known for its women, and starkville is known for its men. It is an extremely feminine society full of insecure little boys. This is why their empowered girls prefer to marry a self-conscious subservient little bear. Truth is, down deep they all want to be with a Dawg*

I know all of Jackson Cardiology went to State for their undergrad. Drs. Warnock, Harris and Waterer all represent the maroon and white well. I actually know more doctors in the Jackson area that are State fans than I even know MDs who attended OM before going to med school. Also know several who did undergrad at Millsaps and went on to be huge State fans. Now law is a different matter. Those festering ***** have that locked down pretty well. I know two lawyers who did their undergrad at St ate but they also washed out of medical school prior to attending law school at MC.

Did it cost extra for them to install your triple wide seat?

I work for UMMC. Every doc in our department(only four) went to state for undergrad. And every non-doc with an undergrad went to state.

Edit: Scratch that. It's 3/4 docs. One is Princeton.

Ole miss fans hate to admit this. The majority of the 'necks from mississippi who didn't go to college are sidewalk Ole Miss fans because of the Dixie/rebels/flag thing. I hate them, but most OM grads are intelligent people, as are most state grads. (Although this is being watered down by our dubmass state government lowering admissions standards). But anyway, this actually means that, on average, there are more redneck/trashy OM fans than state fans. It's just a fact.

Their obsession is at an all time high, very

Enjoyable . Yes , we do make more money on average than they do, easy to look up . We rank 440 and I think they are 537 on mid career avg salaries.

^^^^THIS IS FACT.

I am a lawyer myself. My father in law is a farmer in the Delta who farms around 7K acres. I married up.

But it's time that it is said. I've always known this to be the truth but I've always wanted to stay away from the "holier than thou" angle Ole Miss folks always take over a stupid sports rivalry.

That being said, it's time Ole Miss people understand one thing. We, Mississippi State, are better than you, if you really want to get into it. And I'm not meaning that in the sense of sports (although that is well established by now). I mean that in the sense that farmers unequivocally run this state. Always have. Always will. Learn to accept that. I love to hear Ole Miss douche bags run their traps about poor farmers and how trashy we are. Meanwhile I'm sitting on my 3,000 acre farm in the Delta laughing all the way to the bank. So go ahead and laugh if you think owning land and making, in some cases, seven figures a year is funny. In the Delta WE farmers employ YOU lawyers to handle our land dealings. So do our bidding and know your place in the state hierarchy.

Like I said, I hate having to say this because I abhor people that think they are better than others, but it's time Ole Miss fans take a slap in the face and get a real understanding of things. Rant over.

Out of the better half's class a few years ago at UMC, the numbers favored MSU with TSUN a close second (and extremely cliquish). MS College, Belhaven, and other schools made up about 1/4 of the class. Don't believe the hype about our grads not being represented in medical and law schools. We match or exceed their numbers on a regular basis.

I believe Lamborghini started out as a tractor manufacturer and only later began making cars to compete with Ferrari.

I think the main distinction that moves most to the MSU side is that as a group they do measure themselves on PERCEPTION rather than being a real down to earth person, which is what I find appealing about State grads (of course both sides have their good and their bad, but as a consensus it works this way). They'll drive an overloaded BMW to the game and tailgate with china and real silver just to look like they are better than you, when they are mortgaged to the eyeballs at home. Deep down that moron that's acting like he's better than you just because he has red and blue on doesn't have a bit of self worth and inside he knows it. I've found that more State fans generally care more about enjoying life and not worrying so much about what other think of them. I had a friend of mine that visited from Kentucky for the game this year sum it up this way: MSU makes you feel at home and welcomes you in, Ole Miss wants you to tour their home from a distance so you can go off and tell everyone else how great it is and that you wish you had it that good.

I worked with this one Ole Miss grad at a accounting firm that exemplified this statement. We both started at the same time and were both Senior Accountants, so I knew his salary range. He bought his wife a BMW 7 Series with 130k miles for somewhere around $28,000. I asked him why he did not just get her a new Honda Accord or something. His response was that you just could not match BMW quality and she wanted to drive it to games.
