Umass Power forward transfers to Georgia Tech

Four star power forward Tafare Gapare left the portal today as he committed to Georgia Tech.
The 6’9” rising forward was a four star out of high school and was originally a DePaul commit.

His not coming to RU out of HS ,and now ,I blame on a certain NZ poster .
That poster should be scouting that island for talented basketball players .Then once found , talking them into making RU their destination when they leave the land of Kiwifruit

I was under the impression he was Pike's top assistant, but was told in another thread the top hand under Pikiell a was Brandin .
He's the top assistant for the new HC, Damon Stoudamire ,at GT now so that sounds like a good reason to have left, but can't say it was .

He was looking all over for jobs. It’s almost as if he and/or Pike had agreed it was time to move on and we gave him time to shop himself.

I have no inside info about that. It’s just the impression I get.

Brandin is paid more than 2x what Karl Hobbs was paid at Rutgers. Brandin recruits exceptionally well. Add to that, if you watch the R bench dynamic during the games, you would see that Brandin is the top Asst.
