with our WRs emerging, Green back, RBs back, most of the OL back, and a still getting better Relf, we break school record for points this year. This is Thunderclap's only 2011 prediction.

would also give us the chance to free up Mitchell and let him make plays.

He is much better going forward than going back. He is a beast against the run though. The intermediate to deep middle of the field was wide open all year long against our defense (although it did seem to close up some when Bonner was starting).

he expects to use Harrison-Gay as a hybrid DE/LB. I think our overall philosophy on defense is not going to change very much. I just think the sets will look a little different. I am not nearly as concerned about our LBs with the DTs we have right now. Solid DT play, and overall DL play, will make "average" LBs look good.

My final comment is that I really like the swagger ofour defense. These guys played with a lot of confidence down the stretch and I think that attitude will carry over into this year. We are solid up the middle up front and have some guys playing centerfield that will put your dick in the dirt. I am extremely wooly about 2011.

So the coaching staff may have shared your concerns. I think it's more that Whitley seemed to be over-aggressive at times, which would be a good thing if he's a dog safety-type in a 4-2-5. For instance, he made a great interception against Arkansas in the 3rd qtr (I think). He was playing centerfield and broke on the go route on the sideline to make the play. Well, the next time Arkansas had the ball, they ran the same go route, same sideline, and Whitley broke that way. This time, though, Mallett threw to the open WR in the middle of the field for the long TD.

With Whitley, Mitchell, and Bonner, all can help out against the run and make plays in the secondary. I hope to see them on the field together often.

BDJ say: Robinson at backup LG, Lawson at backup RT. Also hearing Clausell at backup LT. Hopefully we brought in Trapp to be a backup G/C.

also, "<span style="min-width: 0px; font-size: 10pt;">the offensive staff loves Prescott"....new nickname for coach34?</span>

I see the back 5 being

SS1 Mitchell / Wells
SS2 Whitley / Thames
FS Banks / Bonner
CB Slay
CB Broomfield
Not sure who the backup corners will be.

I also think that Fletcher Cox will see some time at DE.

I just hope we keep the simple assignments that Manny had for the D.I think that made a huge difference in our guys agressiveness. We had some very differnt looks last year with just base package guys (McPhee lining up at ILB, some 3-4 looks, some 4-3, etc.)

all pretty good except robinson is playing left guard not left tackle, clausell and muniz are at left tackle and lawson is the back up at right tackle. I also think you will see Hunt inside and Holmes outside but that is speculation, the o-line stuff is where they are lined up now.

we're solid at every other position, or we have the option of rotating someone who'll likely be productive. LT is so technique and experience dependent though it's much hard to plug n play. Carmon and Clausell definitely have the frame for it, but they'll be going up against the best DE's in college football. This will be the position to watch during the spring.

that we had been able to redshirt some of our true sophomores like Bumphis, Cox, Boyd, Chris Smith, definately should have redshirted Cameron Lawrence, and Banks. I probably left a few people out.

The only thing that concerns me about our offense is someone filling in at LT. I understand it was 2 different regimes, but Mike Brown was not a recoverable loss.

Whitley was a true freshman last year and coming off an ACL surgery. I think the kid has as much potential as anyone on our damn team.

He was a little too aggressive at times last year, but thats going to happen. I'd rather see Mitchell down in the box and Whitley out in center field, because that kid has some damn good ball skills for a Safety. His one handed pick against Ark was unbelievable. Plus, his pick against Auburn was awesome and the hit-fumble recovery against UGA.

Keep that kid on the field at all cost.

but I don't think they brought him in early for that specific reason. I think ideally we would like every single recruit to come in early.
