We are going to need a power type back to replace Ballard. Perkins has improved throughout the year but he is not going to be an every down back for us. This looks like one of the most balanced classes that I have seen in a long time.

He is short, but built like a RB (like Emmit Smith/Barry Sanders/MJD size-wise). I think we are focusing on Milton as our power back for this class. Then I am sure we will put a major emphasis on landing Xavier Grindle next year, who is already like 6'1/195 and had a big showing at the Army AA Combine. I think we will continue to see a multiple back system, with Griffin filling Ballard's role and Robinson falling in with Perkins. <div>

So he isnt in Anthony Dixon territory, but definitely could be a Vick Ballard type. Players have said he is more of a power back with speed, so sounds a lot like Ballard. Great reports on him from the coaches during bowl practices.

I like the fact that it appears our "best available targets" to round out this class are OL and DL. And I dont think this has one damn thing to do with missing out on other OL and DL

If we can close with Milton, Mackey, PJ and a couple of these other committed/undecided OL and DL, I will be very happy with this class. And for the star gazers, it should be a top 25 class.

Land CJ/PJ/Mackey/Milton and this is still a very good class. I still believe we filled our WR needs with Morrow and Fosselman. It would have been nice to have Brassell and Singleton (and we definitely wanted them), but their absence doesnt kill this class by any means. <div>
</div><div>As 8dog said in another thread, people easily overlook that we already have a QB on campus in Dak that we held off LSU and TCU for. That alone is really an unprecedented accomplishment. Not to mention we already have a big DE on campus that had offers from BC, Illinois, WVU, South Carolina and others. Dee Arrington is a 4-star and the 8th ranked safety in the country on Scout. Morrow is a GREAT get for our team. Maiden chose State over some very nice offers. The list goes on. </div>

no it is not ideal for them to get 20+ carries, but where spreads tend to have problems are inside the 10 or short yardage and that is where i think Relf excels, just hope prescott does, too ...this area is where i was surprise that favre had success in the first week of bowl practice, that was a huge plus for favre

Morrow, Morrow, Morrow. Mullen could eat some defenses for lunch with a guy with his size.

Mackey runs a 4.6? From a 6-5 260 guy? Holy hell. Sign that guy up.

If we keep Morrow, he and Fosselman are good enough for this year. I doubt we get Washington, because that just looks to be a long shot. And with a good QB like Prescott, you don't have to go get all the big fish WR's. Having a good QB makes your whole offense better, so I think we can have successful WR's that aren't 4 stars.

We should be ok. We will finish off this class well like Mullenhas the last 2 years. I think we will get a commit, maybe 2out ofthis weekend. Mackey will probably commit, and I would love for PJ to commit, but he's got a couple of other visits to take. Maybe we will get lucky with Josh Clemons, but I doubt it.

There hasn't been anything saying they were going elsewhere, although it has been rumored that they may not sign with State in the end.

Have yall noticed that we have not signed a guy under 6'4 since Mullen arrived (that I remember). These guys go after the big boys. I like that.

I think I posted it on here. The OL Mullen has gotten compared to that of Croom was staggering. Mullen's guys were a little heavier, but they were 3 to 5 inches taller than the guys Croom got. Getting big physical OL is really key in the SEC.Auburn had a big OL this year, andeven without Cam, they would have been successful runningand throwing.The shortest guys on their linewereIsom and Berryat 6' 3''.With Hevesy, I trust him to teach a 10 year old to block well for us, so giving him abunch of 6' 3'' to 6' 8'' OL makes me feel good about the future of our OL.

Ive been very very excited about Arrington since the day he committed. i read the article where the day he committed they couldnt find him cuz he was out breaking horses. all the people i know that do that kind of work everyday are cockstrong as hell. he is beast mode in his highlight vidgeos. i cant wait to see him dominate at ss or olb.

Sure, losing multiple starters in any group is cause for concern, but Croom isn't running ship anymore. Mullen had the foresight to sign players BEFORE we needed them. I think it says a lot that there are only 3 guys on the list when we are losing White, Gatling, and Wright. It would be awesome to get Johnson, but we won't be penciling in John Micheal Marlin if he doesn't sign. Rest easy. You'll be seeing a lot of Mike Hunt next year.

Big and huge... average 300 lbs. They were a wall of protection for our QBs.
Looks like Mullen is following the same approach.
