I certainly trust Steve Campbell and if he says Holley is a beast, I am fired up. We really can't project how Siddoway will handle the SEC, but aGAIN, the schedule sets up so favorably this year for him to earn his stripes in the first part of the season. I really think Clausell has a chance to develop into a fine player. The key to next season is going to be Tobias Smith. It became painfully obvious that Tobias was the ONLY lineman we had last year with any real thump. Carmon, Saulsberry and Lawrence were really passive linemen, not a road grader like smith. We missed his physical presence big time. Like Clausell, I think Day is going to develop into a very nice player. Hopefully he can swing at G and C next year and get some more experience, with the very real possibility that he will find himself starting at some point due to injury. Gabe Jackson is another mystery, I think he is a sound technical player, but might not have manhandling ability that Tobias does. Regardless, his experience will be invaluable. </div><div style="min-width: 0px; max-width: 99%; font-family: Tahoma, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); ">

I understand why you might think that, but we are still replacing a lot of experience. I have been a fan too long to rely on "addition by subtraction" - that just rarely, if ever, works out for us. That said, there is a chance that by the 5th game of the season this unit will be better. I am expecting them to be roughly the same as last year, pending their development over the course of the season. </div><div style="min-width: 0px; max-width: 99%; font-family: Tahoma, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); ">

Anyone already writing off Robinson or Muniz for not hitting the field last year just don't know their football that well. I think those guys still have a lot of time to develop - they are certainly projectable as solid tackles. Siddoway gives us a key bridge to continue to bring those guys along. So, out of the slew of guys we have at Tackle, I have a good feeling we are going to find a few good players in that group. </div><div style="min-width: 0px; max-width: 99%; font-family: Tahoma, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); ">

Just not a lot of quality depth there. That should be a major emphasis next year. </div><div style="min-width: 0px; max-width: 99%; font-family: Tahoma, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); ">

Agree on Campbell pumping up Holley. He's a great teacher and judge of talent. Excited about our JUCO additions.

On a side note, I'm glad Aaron Morris from Provine ended up at MGCCC. It should be good for him.

and Tobias Smith will be back in my opinion. He and Gabe Jackson will be studs. Clausell will likely start. Will he be better, probably, at least a little bit. But that guy got straight flat-backed numerous times.<div>
</div><div>I'll never rely on a JUCO OL to start from day one. I think alot of the guys that people have written off will have good years next year, namely Robinson, Muniz, and maybe even Trapp. </div><div>
</div><div>So at the end of the day, we have a bunch of question marks at OT. Hope spring practice clears them up. </div><div>
</div><div>And I agree, we look stacked for the future. OL likely won't be a problem again after this year.</div>

Though I agree he struggled mightily at first. I think another year of Balis and he is going to just get better. <div>
</div><div>We will see about Day, he is still one of the best HS highlight films I have seen of an OL. I think he is going to be a good one, but I would be surprised if Holley didnt start at Center and Day was brought along under Tobias and would start when Tobias leaves. </div>

Smith has maybe 5 starts in 3 years. Everyone seems to think he played a lot in 2010 (and he may have... I don't pay a lot of attention to which guard is in the game)but hedidn't start except for when Brignone went down.

With Smiths injury history I fully expect Day orRobinson (maybe even Hardy)to be our starter at RG next year. I'll consider anything we get from Smith as a bonus. He's certainly got the talent but hasn't shown the ability to stay healthy.

Muniz was injured just before the Egg Bowl (acl) so I don't expect him to compete for starting time this fall. Wouldn't be surprised if we seeKnox or Redmond before we see Muniz. Robinson is kind of the wildcard in my opinion. He's builtlike a tackle, but we've primarily practiced him at guard.I remember people sayinghe didn't have the footwork to play tackle. Maybe we'll find out if that's true or not this year.

He got pushed around a good bit. Could you not see the enormous dropoff that occurred when Tobias went down? I think it was because our line lost its mauler. ANY time the d-linemen are asked in spring practice or camp who is the toughest guy to go against, they say Tobias. <div>
</div><div>Now, I think Gabe is a very good lineman, but more in terms of pass blocking, lateral movement, feet, technical ability, etc. Trust me, I am not trying to sell him short, I just think Tobias is the key to us taking a step forward next year on the line. Of course, I am not counting on him staying healthy, just hopeful. I think the most likely scenario is Siddoway/Jackson/Holley/Day/Clausell for a majority of the season.</div>

I do believe he will be our best lineman next year, he just has a different set of skills from Tobias, that is what I was pointing out. I think he is an excellent pass blocker and very good when we get him pulling. I just haven't seen that pile-moving factor from him. I hope he develops it, because if he does he won't be the #6 projected guard anymore. <div>
</div><div>But, even when Carmon went down against Auburn, we still move the ball effectively on the ground. When Tobias went down, the line completely deteriorated. Maybe it was just coincidence, but I doubt it. </div><div>
