It is so unbelievable. It is shocking how badly mismanaged this was. Run the ball twice in a row at the end of the game and it is over. It is that simple

Only team in the country that can`t cover a deep ball over the middle.

Love how quickly some of you turn. I don't much like it either, but it is what it is people and turning on the coach isn't going to solve anything.

Let's hear the Riley defenders comment on that...... I can't wait to hear what stupid thing comes out Head Coach/Nice Guy's mouth. "It's my fault. I take the blame" That doesn't erase the loss and you aren't back at OSU where coaching like this is acceptable.

You don't understand it because you're too stupid to take off your rose-colored glasses and understand what is happening with the program, and why this kind of crap is not acceptable.

I haven't kept track of who had turned and who hasn't. I am willing to give them time, but they left themselves wide open to criticism today. There were straight up bad decisions in this game, a number of them. No reason at all to lose this game.

Absolutely no excuse for this loss. This may not have been the worst coached game ever but I would argue that it may be the worst coached Nebraska game ever. Langs inability to recognize the run game was working and insist on having Tommy chuck it down the field cost us the game. RUN THE DAMN FOOTBALL!

Whatever magic Riley once had was either just a product of being a good fit in an underdog role or has simply washed away. They simply don't get it.

Pelini >>>>> Riley at this point.

Running the ball on 4th down doesn't change much in terms of time off the clock (unless we get the 1st down of course).

But pasing it on 3rd down makes absolutely no sense.

I'm willing to give them time because we have to. Might as well ride it out because they aren't going anywhere soon.

Never turned on them. Never liked the hire since day one. Been called "doom and gloom" for calling it like I see it. No more calling sunshine pumpers out. That's not helpful. This is all on the AD.

STFU. The decision to throw the ball was the single dumbest play call in Nebraska football history

I can't believe anyone would be dumb enough to not get it. All you had to do was run the ball there on third down and it's game over or at least under 10 seconds left by the time Illinois gets the ball. You guys should have Riley fired immediately just for that one play, forget coverages blah blah blah once you were back on defense.

That's wrong. We run the ball on third down, take time off the clock before you punt the ball. You give then maybe 20 seconds to march 80 yards. Instead, you throw an incompletion on third down and then incompletion on forth down. Keep the freakin clock in play...

Hard to put into words how stupid Langsdorf's playcalling was....

We've seen a lot a badly called games, but I do think this does qualify as the worst....and that's saying something.

None of this is really even Riley and the staffs fault. They should have never been hired and put in a program that's just too good for them. It's like getting mad at a AA pitcher for getting rocked in MLB a. He just doesn't belong coaching at this level

I do blame Eichorst more than anyone. First, for not having the guts to fire Pelini in 2013. Then, for not even interviewing anyone besides Mike Riley. McElwain, Fuente, Herman, at least try to interview these guys.

Funny, but I can understand your point. Riley has never been more than an average coach in college. Nebraska deserved better than this. If what I read about Pearlman possibly retiring soon, I hope the next guy cleans house; from the AD and down.

Re-read what I wrote. I said that throwing it on 3rd down makes no sense.

There are issues in Lincoln right now, and I'm not sure of the answers but to say Pelini is better than Riley is crazy. See "Madison Massacre of 2014" to show that.

University leadership is to blame. They are not committed to winning football games. It's just not a priority. This should be obvious to anyone who is paying attention.
