This was much more of a domination than the score showed. I know this year we haven't played the bench as much but today would have been a good day to get some others some PT. Are some of the bench players in line to get a redshirt or is this a different approach this year?
NU fell to Princeton today 3-2. NU had 3 PC's in the final 30 to try and tie it back up. Great game to watch. Takeaway from that game is how important it is to have studs in the midfield, an area I feel we are weaker on this year. Another takeaway is how slow our insert on PC's are compared to other teams.
Heels will likely reclaim #1 in the polls.
Known 2026 incoming recruits are - Sofia Ferri (top 10 in class, indoor NT member, listed on u21 NT roster), Molly Nussbaumer, Emersyn O'Leary, Morgan O'Donnell (top 10 in class, listed on u18 NT roster) and Cecily Moorhead out of England (u18 NT member, I believe*). Fingers crossed on one or two more strong international recruits!

NW is ranked #5 by RPI with three best wins versus #8, #13 and #15, but lost to #4 in a game they played maybe slightly better (each team with 8 shots on goal, but NW lead 10-4 on PCs)
Vs same opponents: We beat the team that beat them, we beat Iowa (#13) by 1 more goal. We beat #33 Louisville by two more goals and they needed OT to win that one.
There is no logical reason they should still be ranked ahead of us. We are 2/3 through the regular season and their season last year should no longer matter.

Because the US field hockey establishment is still mad that Erin got the most coveted coaching job. As I’ve said before, about 6 USFH reps (wearing their swag and credentials) sat directly behind me at the 2023 national championship game and outwardly cheered for Northwestern. I was shocked at the lack of professionalism. I think this is the most likely outcome as well. I believe she has been the strongest performer internationally to have come out of the USA to date! So wouldn't be surprised if she stays put to further education and training. Pure speculation on my part. I of course would love to be wrong too, and see her wind up in a Tar Heel uni!

Well, the only explanation why NW is still number 1 and we are still number 2 is flat out bias. They just do not like us. The stats that 3397char gave us indicates that we should be number 1 now. That is a bunch of bull on them, and someone needs to let them know about it. That is okay though. we are know who should be number 1. Let's keeps those receipts and take care of business. I am so proud of our ladies. Keep doing what you are doing. Take one game at a time. Go Heels!
Cool thing about this debate is championships are won, not awarded. And you eventually have to run the gauntlet anyway.

I noticed R Heck played center mid whenever Mendez or Bruning was out of the game. Not sure if that is a new development or if I am just now noticing.

What a game! Gave 3-1 comeback against Princeton in 19’ vibes. Scoring winning goal in the final 30 secs. 3 goals in 5 minutes to close out the W in that one.
Big save from Wimmer can’t go unnoticed! Horrible call on Grace shortly before that I am still baffled by - I’m sure the staff is as well.

Wow, what a comeback by our ladies. This is a very good win on the road, in a hostile environment, and they had to fight back to get the win. A win like this is definitely going to help us down the road. Our resiliency as a team was truly tested today. Go Heels! Go Erin and Staff! and most in importantly, Way to go ladies!
