I immediately thought the ACC was protecting its own there. I mean honestly we've seen them do it int he past anwe know the SEC protects the upper tier teams. Weve been on the wrong end of that racket more than once. Then I thought can you really blame them? With the amount of $$$ at stake here not to mention the national clout that comes with having a representative in this thing. Im surprised they waited that long to make a blatantly wrong bad call thats cutting it too close IMO. And where is there a deterrent to prevent conferenes from doing this? They answer to no one. They just send an apology letter to the school that got screwed What about the team in another conference that got screwed because of said "bad" call?
Its why Ihave no problems with recruiting a shady kid. Its why I wanted PEtrino hired. Its why I had no problem with our administration when we got caught playing the game under Mumme. You cant play by different rules than everyone else and win, it doesnt happen. It makes for nice fictional reading but at the end of the day you show me a winning program and given access Ill bet we can show you a trail of broken rules large and small. I mean really when your conference is involved in the same shenanigans to keep their playoff teams unbeaten on national TV what do you think is happening behind closed doors?
Lots of jaded folks nowadays. As we see more and more of the UNC, Louisville, Duke type stuff going forward lets keep in mind this is just the stuff people are dumb enough to get caught doing. Imagine what they havent been caught doing yet. When we play by the same rules as they do we will be viable until then we might get lucky every 10 years or so but there will never be any consistency. Its like fighting a war where you play by rules and your opponent is a savage. What moron agrees to that?
