Shae O'Rourke is out for year; she had a great game against us. This team needs any advantage it can get.
We got unlucky with a lot of people going pro, on the team and from the highschool class (Consequence of success). We’ve got a great recruiting class coming in, next season should be a better year.Question from someone who has not followed the program this year--are people viewing this season's results as an unlucky aberration, the potential start of a downward trend, or something in between? Seems like a lot of the losses were pretty close and to really good teams.
well forgive us hi n mighty womens soccer poobahUNC fans are always clueless on the history of the program.
Miami wasn't worse ever. We lost to William and Mary at home.
The 2021 team lost in 1st round of the NCAA tournament. They also didn't make the ACC tournament.
I agree completely. The turnover in our program is insane...I don't know how a coaching staff is supposed to prepare for a season when you're losing players (e.g. Shores) to the professional ranks a month before the season starts.I have no idea how FSU, ND, DUKE, Stanford, UVA keep their best players in college for 4-5 years.
UNC schedule site says it’s on ESPN+ so the dispute wouldn’t matter unless it gets flexed to SECN or ACCNSo I have until Friday @ 6pm for YTTV and Disney to work out this contract dispute.
Actually, I guess that's really a noon cutoff for the FH match.
+ should be a completely separate membership FYI. But admittedly I haven't looked that closelyAs it stands, I don't have access to any ESPN right now. But if they get it sorted, then I can stream + or watch it on demand.
Yes, ESPN+ is separate from the streaming you have rights to by being a YTTV, Spectrum, Comcast, etc... customer with ACC Network. You have to buy a separate subscription.+ should be a completely separate membership FYI. But admittedly I haven't looked that closely
No, I had full ESPN+ access (on their app) through my YTTV subscription, in addition to the channels on YTTV. With the dispute, we've lost all access to anything ESPN.Yes, ESPN+ is separate from the streaming you have rights to by being a YTTV, Spectrum, Comcast, etc... customer with ACC Network. You have to buy a separate subscription.

Where does the class rank nationally?Should be a really large 2026 class when everything settles:

*Note that 10 of the 21 player U-17 team were either already in college or on pro teams, and a few of others are HS juniors, so this is a really exclusive group: basically top 10 HS seniors.
4 star is the top level for Top Drawer
I believe Sealy Strawn is now a pro player, but her Wikipedia and personal SM account still says she is committed to UNC. It says she is on an academy contract which allows her to retain eligibility. Recently named USL Super League Young Player of the Year
I believe it is 3rd currently, but I don't have any soccer recruiting subscriptions so it is had to tell when I keep hitting paywalls. I think ND is #1. Important to note that the name of the game in soccer recruiting is actually getting the player on campus before the pros swoop in, so those rankings are always a bit of a penciled in placeholder.Where does the class rank nationally?
*and won a national championshipRobbie Church bought Kiernan Hall #1 recruiting class. He also inherited a final four roster.
Anson Dorrance left Damon with 12 players and said good luck. His best three recruits never went to college; his best players all went pro and half team transferred. He has spent two years cleaning up a pile of crap.*
While embarrassing Church*and won a national championship
It's funny, we lose 2 of 3 to duke last year, and they were pretty clearly better than us. We won the most important game, but I don't think we could have beaten them in a series. While embarrassing Church
I suppose the most important piece is the quality of the class overall, but I love seeing some local ladies included (2 from NC Courage and 1 from Wilmington).Well, this is all very encouraging.
