What is the population of Union County curently?

Somewhere around 270, 000 last time I heard and growing quick. It was the second fastest growing county in the state behind Wake at one point. There's still two more high schools not on this list. Central Academy and Lake Park Prep do not play football but do field teams in the other sports.

Monroe surprises me but they also play tough opponents. I still think they make a lot of noise in the playoffs.

They did lose some serious talent but they're still good. According to Simmons they've played the toughest schedule in 5A. Their game against Lumberton last week was postponed due to weather.

Union County is a serious hotbed...

It has become that in that in the last few years for sure. When I was in high school here back in the 80s there were only 5 high schools and we were all in the same 3A conference now there are 13. Forest Hills just opened a new high school this school year.
