we are going to be in worse shape when the baseball seams are changed. It will help teams that can make good contact, as far as HRs, but we don't make good contact so, we lose ground.

I don't think we can assume that only the other teams will get the benefit of the new balls, or predict what kind of contact we'll get over a period of years.

I will believe all this seams crap when I see it. To me, this is the NCAA's way of saying "Sorry, we went too far."

I think it will hurt pitchers more than anything. Those Holder type curve balls will not have the same bite with lower seams. I think that will lead to more contact but I don't believe it is going to drastically impact the HR numbers. I will gladly admit it if I am wrong but I don't think I will be.

The new seams will make a well hit fly ball carry about 10 feet farther. So it won't be a huge effect, but warning track flies of today will turn into HRs. Hopefully the next step in a few years will be to switch to the minor league ball which has a livelier core.
