Maybe Josh should get a full offseason to install his system.
That's not likely to happen mainly because he's under contract for 1-year as "interim". If he gets another year, then he would have to be hired and would get a multi-year contract (nobody would agree to just a 1-year deal). So that would mean he would have a buyout if fired early. It's likely that he is in his only year as head coach. The question is: Will he and this staff stay on or will they be gone? My prediction is that most will leave. I believe Eilert and Johnson will most definitely leave. I believe that Butler and Ruoff would like to stay. I think McCabe would like to stay as well.

I would not be surprised if Huggins comes back next year as HC and most of the staff remains. And Eilert is the top assistant as a coach in waiting.

The best thing would be for them to hire Huggs back right now and admit they were lucky to have him in the first place.

Hilarious. We were lucky because why? Huggs was fired by Cincinnati for, now get this, DUI as he ran his car into a tree.

You were one of the first ones that wanted him fired because the team stunk it up the last 5 years.

I think we need a young and upcoming type coach that can relate to this new wave of athletes when it comes to the NIL and the portal.

We were lucky to have had a hall of fame coach, who graduated from WVU and is a local to boot. Huggins is about as good of a story as WVU has ever had until the ending, but this too shall pass.

Yes, its true that Huggins was on my warm seat. His recruiting was down, and without his type of guys, his system doesnt go well. Huggs has a hard coaching style that is harder to find players that take to it than it used to be. The NIL seemed like it was going to be his downfall, but to my suprise, Huggs and his staff took the NIL and made it its *****, and put together perhaps the best roster he ever had. That, imo, was worthy of giving him another year or 2 to see how it went. So Huggins wasnt really wasn't on my hot seat as he used to be by the time he got his DUI.

Overall I am fine with finding an upandcoming new coach, but I think WVU made the situation asbad as it can be in the way they reacted to the entire thing. They made this season a throwaway season and it reallyb didnt have to be. Thats all.

Nobody is saying it won't pass. It's going to take time.
