I'm not a big fan of the script State even though we've apparently went all in on it. And I know lots of folks clamored for the interlocking MSU to go back on the helmets. I'm nostalgic too, because that's the logo that was there when I was a student. But by far, our best success as a program came while sporting the banner M.

Banner M should be our tradition. The logo is the longest running logo in Mississippi State history. It's synonymous with our most successful teams and players across three sports.

But state fans want a jumbled up mess of 3 letters .....

My issue is brand recognition. When you keep changing logos it makes it hard for people to remember what it is.

Do you see other schools changing logos all the time? What about other major brands? Lexus? John Deere? What if John Deere decided to paint their tractors red?

I like the M State logo. Shoot me. I’m glad it’s hanging around and hopefully they keep it as the permanent logo.

And why do State fans see that regarding that logo? (Rhetorical)

Memphis has a very similar logo and I've never heard their people call it a tiger humping a M.

I thought I may like going back to the interlocking. But after the last two games wearing them (regardless of outcomes), I’m now more ‘eh?’ about interlocking. Personally like the idea of current State script but with a ‘M’ behind it.
But yeah….the collective consensus from this forum is they all suck.

I really do not Like Maroon and White, I’m more of a chartreuse and magenta guy.

We are a multi logo school, accept it and move on. The broadcast of the game last week has the Mstate on the score at the bottom of the screen, when they went to break they showed stye &tate and we were wearing the cascading MSU. The sooner we accept it we can move onto more important discussions like Lebby firing or keeping for another year and why our second or third string QB should be starting**

One thing we haven’t done yet is wear one logo on one side of the helmet, then on the other side wear a different one.

Interlocking is our football logo. Keep it or we riot.

Banner m blows and is dying a far too slow of a death. The same 3 can come on here and scream into the void if they want. That thing is relegated to university letter heads. Absolutely horrible on a uniform.

I'm not a huge fan of the State script on the helmets, however I believe it is our best logo on any kind of apparel and I will tell you why. The State script is one solid color... Simple. The MState banner has many different variations. White M/white banner, Maroon M/Maroon banner, white M/Maroon banner, Maroon M/white banner. Then you get to decide whether you want them outlined in maroon, white, or gray. With the Script, it's just one color. Clean and simple. Like the "A" that Alabama uses. And for what it's worth, the younger generation seems to like it better as well.

Agreed on the variations. The maroon banner M looked best on a white helmet. But every detractor wants to equate a white helmet with Croom. Even though Jackie started the white helmets in 2000.

Just stick with a Maroon M outline in white. JoMo years.

The logo on the helmet plays no part in the success of the team. The coach does tho.
