Source said Patterson is a thug and that the MSU coaches are "going through the motions" regarding recruiting him. Said they'd get on him harder if they thought he was leaning towards Ole Miss over Tenn. Just thought I'd pass it along.

He knows the deal. He would not be wasting time "going through the motions". Either you or your source are wrong. They are recruiting him or they aren't. I think they were, and when they figured out he wasn't coming (for whatever reason people want to believe) they stopped and moved on to other targets.

It really is that easy.

Exactly. The initial post is no different than OM fans saying we didn't want Bumpis, which is ********. We wanted Bumpis, he wasn't coming, we moved on. Same with Patterson and MSU.

This is probably the same source that told RBdog82 that Dooley and Patterson were the next in line behind Peterson during the coaching search.

luckily croom set that precedent of not recruiting thugs who might shoot a gun on campus.

who cares if the guy is a thug? you can't tell me we have zero thugs on our team or hell any other team in the SEC.

If Patterson signs with MSU, it will be one of the biggest surprises in recruiting history. Alot of people will point to Pegues or Elliot, but they at least visited Starkville and had them in their finalist schools. Patterson has shown no desire whatsoever to be at State. The coaches wouldn't pursue him unless he is showing interest.

I think he's seen enough of Starkville/MSU to know what is up despite not taking an official. It's not like he hasn't been coming here since he was a Soph in HS.

I'm just passing along what I heard. Not sure where Tenn. came from, but my friend does have serious daily contact w/ Ninja (not that Ninja is Mullen). Like I said, hope my friend is wrong.

maybe. Rivals has a front page story on Recruiting Predictions 2009 Jamie Newberg show Patterson to State. Others have him to Ala or UM. So who knows?

Maybe Miami or someone is now, but they have produced some guys like Alvin Harper, Carl Pickens, Marcus Nash, Peerless Price, and Kelley Washington.

Congrats on the dumb *** post of the day. Do you really think we would be having an in home tomorrow if we were not recruiting him?

we'll have a plethora of jugs machines to shoot footballs at you! during games, however... well, we haven't worked that out yet..."

they'll need a qb who can throw to folks in the right colors, too before they can resurrect that title....

It would definitely be interesting to see how quickly Patterson quit being a selfish thug to a bunch of people if MSU were to land him. It's always funny how that works.

Exatcly. That menatilty is ridiculous. Just like the whole elliot thing was ridiculous the way many Ole miss fans handled it

A lot of them still handle the Elliot situation the same way they did when it happened. Although most knew he was switching to State for a couple of months, they still ate up that crazy story. I bet Bruiser still believes it.

Way to go. Patterson was actually committed to Croom. Why would that be no desire to ever come to State?
