I was listening to the CBS podcast / Cover 3. They were talkin about how there were no quality lineman in the portal. It seems teams aren't letting them go so easily.
They went on to say any team needing multiple starters from the portal on the OL where probably going to be **** out of luck.

Once again Lebby and co are knocking it out of the park with their portal strategy.
Prediction - We’ll eventually sign 4-6 underwhelming transfers, we’ll be told that they’re all actually solid additions due to blah blah blah, and then we’ll get the whole “what did you 17ers expect?” speech.

Good thing Lebby has signed several 4* high school OL the last couple of years. **
Mix in one of those patented "you guys are not real fans because you refuse to blindly donate your money ..." soap box specials.
There are beginning to be signs that Lebby might not be the guy. Subtle, but they are there.

I'm not donating anything until we at least look like we're trying to be serious about running a P2 college football program and not a clown show.

It's hilarious to me that so many in our fanbase are bought into the idea that all our current players (this year and last year) were just not good enough. And we should just cut them all and go out and find new players. Couple of things:
- How the hell do we know that there are better players out there (the ones that are, we can't afford, and already know where they are going);
- At what point do you start saying that Lenny is the problem because he can't get anything out of what he has?
We have like 10 OL and DL in the portal now. They will all be a year older next year. Seems to me the smart money would be on paying them smaller amounts to stay, and develop them, rather than this yearly portal rat race. And if Lenny isn't the guy to do that, we've got the wrong coach.
You can't just keep saying that your 1st and 2nd year players suck and discard them yearly. That's incredibly inefficient. Not to mention that you're the one who thought, at one time, they were worthy to recruit.

We need a contract and NIL deal with Mississippi Prison Industries and have them supply the talent.
Good luck with that, most people expect a return on their investment and so far this fund has been more of a penny stock

I have to agree with you here. There aren't many upgrades in the portal. The good ones are all going to get snatched up before we get them. I hardly think our evaluator are gonna find 5 low 3 stars that are under the radar gems. Jimothy is probly better than the guys we will sign. Then next year when they cant block all the keyboard coaches will say " well it takes time for the OL to gel". The other half will keep calling for new coaches.
Meanwhile Jimothy Lewis is being wooed by Alabama…we a talent problem not doubt …….. in the coaching ranks
Agree with pretty much every word. I won’t pretend to know everything that we need to be doing, but I know without a shadow of a doubt that we need to be doing something different from the way that Lebby is running this program.
This cycle of loading up on low end 3* HS kids only to let half of them go the following year and then sign a bunch of portal leftovers is never gonna cut it.
Just give to the SEF mane.
20 years ago replace SEF with Bulldog Club and it was the same shlt.
The only fix we have now is the same fix we got back then.......get rid of the incompetent AD and head coach and replace with competence. If that means the president has to go too, well......it is what it is.
I saw that. The guy that cost us the TN game, kinda, Bama fans are impressed with his size.
In hindsight, it would have been nice to keep him. I don't know if he has the quickness to be a Tackle but a guard for sure. I was hopefully he would come back but .... with bama in the mix, he gone.
