Florida is "supposed" to always be good, so they'll be ranked higher in the preseason than they should be. I doubt they'll be ranked at the end of the season.

and saw where 11 of the 14 SEC teams are either ranked or receiving votes. I am betting no other conference can boast that 79% of their team members are that highly respected. And they wonder why we schedule down with OOC. Two teams are top 5,five are top 10 and seven ranked in all.

Agree that either way you look at it, it applies. I think Muschamp is going to be looking for a job come Thanksgiving.

yeah uga's schedule is about as light as it gets for the sec.

the only issue i see for them is they are pretty thin, so 1 or 2 key injuries could really hurt them. but if they stay relativelyhealthy, they'll win 10+ games and be in the top 10.

or roster for that matter. My gut reaction was that 6 just seemed high. Also, didn't their stud running back get booted from the team over the summer? That's got to hurt them to a degree, you would think.

It should be anassessmentof ability. This is why these preseason polls are so 17ing stupid. Don't reward a team with a high ranking because they are playing ****** teams.

Not to mention that it's clearly not about which teams win the most games. Just ask Houston--won 13 games, finished ranked 18th.

Proof that it's all about the wins. Anyone with any sense at all knew Houston wasn't anywhere near the 7th best team in the country, but they were ranked there because of their wins. We'd have had another Georgia-Hawaii Sugar Bowl on our hands if USM hadn't bailed the country out.

If it was truly "all about the wins" Houston would have been ranked first or second going into the last game of the season since it was tied for the best record. If it was "all about the wins", we would have dropped out of the ranking after losing to Auburn in the second game of the season. Just look at the polls--there is clearly not a one-to-one relationship between wins and ranking. Why are you arguing this? It's about wins, losses, and strength of schedule after the games are played. Teams with a tough schedule receive a boost (not allabout the wins); teams with a weak schedule are penalized. If no games are played, it is asinine to use scheduling to rank the teams.<div>
