By the way, you are talking to a former intramural pillow polo champion here. Pure athlete.

Pillow polo? Never heard of it. Sounds dirty. I approve.
It is (or was) basically hockey on a gym floor. You used sticks to score into a goal. The sticks had foam on the ends, but 'pillow' was a misnomer, because those b*tches were not that soft. We spent a lot of the time body-checking the other team into oblivion. Pretty fun game.

That reminds me; I've recently enjoyed name-dropping the fact that I'm a two-time intramural pickleball champion in front of friends/teens and offering to be a celebrity trophy presenter (yes, it's tongue-in-cheek).
They don't need to know the brackets we won looked like the CFP circa 2014.

Now I just need melonball to suddenly reappear 25+ years after I last played it...

The sand on the floor of the Tin Gym would have been a huge mess to clean up**

Former Intramural Softball Champ here '83 & '84. I look at that big azz oak tree behind Fresh Food Company Cafeteria and remember that was home plate and shade back then for an intramural softball field ("they paved paradise and put in a parking lot", literally now).
Amazing that nobody ever caught on to the fact that there wasn't really Ginger Ale in those green Canada Dry bottles that every last one of us had. Why ginger ale? Because it was the same color as the beer we had in them. Every last one of us would show up every game w/ ginger ale in plastic bottle, that was a huge tip off if anybody ever noticed.

Watching a little ski jumping now from the normal slope - I seem to remember in past years that jumpers have kept their ski tips either straight-on or slanted in a little. Now, the tips are spread way out. Seems like that's a lot less aerodynamic than keeping the tips together.

that’s impressive, Doctor

How kind of you but seriously I’m not one of the asshats that makes everyone call me Dr.! I actually go out of my way to not let people know.
Softball was easy to get a bunch b/c there were several seasons per calendar yet where most sports only had 1.
