In thinking about how this conference expansion effects us, how did we compare in relation to Arkansas and USC prior to 1992? Because right now, to me, it looks like we're trailing both schools. Was it that way before we invited them?

USC - I still don't think they're all that, currently riding a perfect storm. If their recruiting keeps up, then maybe.

And don't give me baseball, they'd be just as good at it in another conferece (Clemson)

saturday. Their facilities are at least equal and are still improving. they have out-recruited OM and State during the last 5 years or so. they have a much larger alumni and fan base.

However, I think they are extremely lucky Clemson isn't going to be joining the SEC. If Clemson was in the SEC, I think they would far and away be the best program in South Carolina.

SC is very rich in talent, but for the longest time most of the elite kids either headed out-of-state or to Clemson (more so back in the 80s and early 90s when they were more of a national power). They've started to improve on that the last several years, which is why their program has gotten much better. They've managed to keep guys like Lattimore, Clowney, Jeffrey and Stephon Gilmore in-state. They've still lost a few big ones in the past five or six years, like Carlos Dunlap (UF) or Prince Miller (UGA), but they've really improved their recruiting since Spurrier arrived.
