There actually was a former PSU soccer player who played in the Bundesliga for a minute. Ricardo Villar. The team was Unterhaching and it was during the last couple years of Barry Gorman's time at PSU before he went to FC Dallas.

The CW is big time. What did that contract run? 4-5 hundred at least
Nice dust-off of a Monty Python classic....kudos!“And the Lord spake, saying, ''First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it.””
Between The Holy Grail and Life of Brian they pretty much hit on everything. Its timeless.Nice dust-off of a Monty Python classic....kudos!

Interesting article as I thought the ACC settlement deal would keep that conference together for a longer period of time. I was hoping to see the Virginia and Carolina schools eventually join our conference to see our conference go into regional divisions, with an East Coast regional pod that included PSU and some of those schools down south. I have read for quite some time that the UNC faculty prefer the B1G, but the alumni prefer the SEC.
This is interesting. That would create 17 teams in the SEC. Wonder if, as a State University, they would have to (by state legislture)/want to bring NC State with them and end up making it an even 18.
With Belicheat at UNC it brings a big name and following to the B1G if they are offered. Still not sure how he will do at UNC.UNC, UVA next to realign?
Lots of heat out there about them being the top two targets for the B1G and/or SEC - both excellent academic fits for the B1G and UNC has been an athletics powerhouse forever. Think they would be smart additions to the B1G; could see that happening and Clemson/FSU maybe bolting for the SEC. Thoughts? Is UVA somehow tied to VA Tech (UNC/NCST for that matter too)? Too soon to expand? Any other attractive candidates? I don't see how regional schools like Pitt survive this.
That’s paywalled, but my guess is Notre Dame is the prize and targeting other ACC teams accelerates that option.![]()
20-team Big Ten in 2030, Maryland AD says; Notre Dame will not budge on independence
The Big Ten is expanding! Again! Don’t believe me? New Maryland athletic director Jim Smith, in an interview this week with Inside Maryland Sports Radio, was asked how many teams will be in the Big Ten in 2030. “Twenty,” Smith said. The next obvious question is what two teams get called up to...www.on3.com
I would love to see UNC join the B1G, mainly for selfish reasons. I live in Raleigh and having PSU come to Chapel Hill would be great!UNC, UVA next to realign?

Perhaps UVA, UNC or another Mid-Atlantic oddball to make the math work. Could see NC State or GA Tech or Duke.
The real question is can they stop at 20 or do they need to take on more ACC schools to pull this off?
